Q: Record voice while recording screen

Is it possible to record your voice while recording screen? I feel like this is a very important feature. I have check my settings on my computer and the mic is working. Is there a setting on Layerpath that I am missing? I do see that you can add voiceover later, but I would like to record my voice as I am recording the screeen.

A: Hi there, thank you for your question!

1. Currently, we don’t support recording your voice while recording the screen. However, we’re actively working on including this feature, and it should be available by Q1 2025.

2. For now, you can add your voice to specific slides or layers after recording. You can also use AI voiceover to generate voices for your entire project. Audio recording during the initial screen recording is one of our top priorities for the next quarter.

Let us know if you have more questions or feedback!

Hi there, I’m Vinay, the founder of Layerpath. Unlike basic screen recorders, Layerpath captures HTML elements and interactions to generate demos, guides, and videos. Adding voice recording during screen capture could disrupt this flow, affecting transitions and the structure of projects. It’s not about complexity—it’s about ensuring the feature fits seamlessly. We understand that users have two key needs for voice recording: some want their real voice included for a personal touch, much like traditional screen recording tools, while others see voice as a way to enrich project context and improve output. We’re exploring solutions that address both use cases, like timestamping voice to enhance content while keeping workflows efficient. (Part 2/3)
