Broken promises and painfully slow development.
I really wanted to love Letterly - the concept is great, and the transcription quality is solid. But the way this app is being developed is beyond disappointing.
The team informed that the ability to add new recordings to existing notes would arrive around August–September 2025. It’s now November 2025, and that feature still doesn’t exist. The Android app hasn’t received a single meaningful update since June 30, 2025, while iOS and macOS users keep getting new toys and improvements.
It’s frustrating to see how blatantly they prioritize Apple platforms while completely neglecting Android and Windows users.
Essential features like adding audio to existing notes or merging notes have been “coming soon” for months - and nothing happens.
At this point, the development speed is glacial and communication feels vague.
Letterly could be an amazing cross-platform tool, but right now it’s a half-finished app that clearly favors one ecosystem.
If you’re on Android or Windows - don’t waste your time or money.

Edited Nov 12, 2025Thank you so much for your honest and detailed feedback. 💜
I completely understand your frustration. We actually invest just as much effort into Android as we do into iOS, but this year we were caught by Google’s mandatory SDK update, which required major internal changes and delayed our planned feature releases.
We’re now actively working to catch up and improve the Android experience. The current version already supports audio sharing and transcription, and a new update with more features is in progress.
The “add to existing note” feature is also being prepared – sometimes development meets unexpected technical challenges, but we’re doing our best to move forward as quickly as possible.
As for Windows, it actually works great through our web version – no installation needed, just open https://web.letterly.app
If you’ve experienced any issues there, please write to us at hi@letterly.app – we’d love to understand what didn’t work well for you.
Thank you for your patience and for believing in the potential of Letterly – we remain fully committed to improving the experience across all platforms, not just Apple.
