Confusing Device License Policy
I purchased Letterly today with a 1-device license, but I was honestly surprised by something that feels a bit unclear.
Does the license count my Windows desktop app as one device and the web version as another separate device/license? And would my phone also require a separate license?
Maybe I misunderstood how the licensing works, so I will test it for a few days and update my feedback. But if the web app, desktop app, and mobile app each require separate licenses, I personally think that would not be very logical or user-friendly.
Could you please clarify how the device/license limit actually works?
Thank you.

Jul 1, 2026Hi there! Thank you for your question!
Yes, with a 1-device license, each app or platform counts as a separate device.
Based on what you described, Tier 3 seems to be the best fit for you. With Tier 3, you receive 3 codes, which together provide 4 device slots. That would allow you to use Letterly on your desktop app, web app, and phone, while still having one extra device slot that you can assign to another user with their own email address and separate workspace.
I hope that helps clarify how it works! 🙏
