Q: link integration & browser version

A couple of questions
1) Is there a reason you don't try to embed links with IFRAME so they also work in the web app? I find that a major restriction that links can ONLY be opened in the desktop app. Maybe LiftOS could be a Chrome Extension and live in the side bar if IFRAME doesn't work?
2) The websites I'm embedding (ie www.web.de) are saying that my browser is outdated. Is not a recent version of chromium embedded in LiftOS?
3) Currently very frequently when trying to add a link in the Desktop App the app just freezes. Do you know that might be happening?
4) Is there a reason that the second page opens in splitview? I find myself minimizing the second page every single time! Could be a setting maybe?
Thanks!

A: Great suggestions Patrick, in the app we are running a mini-browser in a browser and overlaying it on top of app containers. We will work on bringing more of this functionality to the web but the App also supports being far from the browsers chaos and allow you to work without distractions.

We will soon update the browser version!

Regarding the freezes, very sorry this shouldn't be the case

Windows : https://storage.googleapis.com/lift-assets/liftOS.exe
macOS: https://storage.googleapis.com/lift-assets/liftOS.pkg

Please download the latest version from here to update it this might fix your issues.

Split view we will bring an option to allow on demand. For time being you can minimize apps faster from the sidebar than their right corner - this might help!

I do like inspiring people to switch from their browser to a more focused workspace. And without the iframe I'm kind of forced and then feel upset when the browser inside the desktop app is out of date or slower... Yet if I chose to do it myself I'm more forgiving 😉
