Q: Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm not sure if this is going to be worth my time if I already have some services doing similar things.

1) Other than voice, what features does LiveAgent offer that are not available free from tawk.to?

2) Assuming voice feature is used, is storage of calls included with the Appsumo deal (your site seems to say unlimited for the top tier plan) ? If no, up to how many gig? Can this be set to automatically delete unsaved voicemails after a certain time period passes (eg - 3 months)? Can this be integrated with Google voice? Other storage sites? If someone calls, how many people's phones can be set to ring simultaneously? Can callers be given an outgoing message that no voicemails are accepted (and then hang up?). If calling / SMS / voicemail features need to be provided by other vendors, which appear to offer better prices?

3) to what extent can this be set up to operate with a regular mobile phone carrier? What if some people on my team have one carrier, and others have another? And can it work with Skype?

A: Hello Sumo-ling!

1) Our solution, LiveAgent, is complex, multi-channel help desk software which combines the power of tickets, real-time live chat, call center and customer portal into one package. We have some advanced features such real-time typing projection (aka you can see what your customers are typing even before they hit the enter button and therefore prepare answers in time), advanced rules & automation (based on "events" as well as on the time), powerful reports and last, but not least there is also option to have your own domain. We focus on providing single tool, which would help them with their customer support.
I am not going to make any direct comparison to Tawk.to as it may look biased - there are couple of review sites available (G2.com, Capterra, GetApp...) which are can provide you this information.

2) There is no limit on the number of your recordings. We store your whole history in our cloud, however we do not have integration with Google Voice. If there is an active incoming call, it will ring to one agent (based on your selected call distribution method). Our best recommendation would be to go for Twillio, we use it also, it has great prices and stability.

3) We have built-in video chat feature, so there is no need to rely on Skype anymore. Regarding the mobile carriers, you can plug in numbers from those carriers, who support SIP trunking. More information can be found here:

4) No, we do not have any integration with Tawk.to. Let me just add, that we do not provide such feature as Tawk.to, where you could hire external agents, who would provide support for your business as we believe, that "internal" support from the company itself can bring the best and most fruitful results.

To partly answer my own question re #2) https://voip.ms/ seems to be one of the most low priced feature rich voip providers. (I have no affiliation / commission with them or tawk.to which I think referred me to them).

Let me add 4) Tawk.to has told me that for as little as $1/hr I can contract a live agent to answer incoming calls (not on a variety of offerings / sites but per each offer / site). BUT they would require me to use tawk.to to interact with their live agent. ... Does liveagent.com have a custom integration (or a near term milestone to create one) with tawk.to so that I can use a tawk.to agent to handle chat? If so, when is it due / can I see a link to it? If not, is there a public roadmap on which it could be put?

Meanwhile IF anyone on these boards has integrated the two (Liveagent.com and Twak.to), perhaps with zapier could you please post your experience and/or a link to a short youtube video showing how the two can work and/or properly allow calls to be directed to a Twak.to agent when I or a US based colleague is not available to personally answer the phone?

besides what Andy has said, let me point out several other things you might be missing using Tawk.to

- as mentioned unlimited recordings, storage of tickets and attachments
- some other providers bill you on top of your VoIP provider, we would never do this
- they don't have social media support (FB and TW + Instagram is currently in review, so launching soon)
- they don't seem to have any automation and that's what is the most LiveAgent about, try our rules and automated distribution to check how easy is to save time
- I cannot see any advanced chat features, like online visitors or real-time typing view there

Hi Jay,

we received as a feedback from last time. We have integration with similar solution, CloudTalk for outbound sales software.

As we are aware, AppSumo community might have strong preference towards integration from previous deals. We will prioritize it into the future, currently we are in development of Screen Sharing feature and Instagram is being launched in next version.

Wanted to give LiveAgent a shout out. We used them for our anvanda kickstarter campaign after 2 of our shipping partners sh*t the bed. This software helped us handle thousands of tickets.

Great software. UI could be better but they are improving. Constantly updating.

Zendesk and Freshdesk made us free offers for a year and Im glad we went with live agent instead. Keep up the good work.

looking at this https://blog.yodel.io/yodel-drift-9aa6c6eb728 I can see what it's doing is just connecting call center with help desk software, which is LiveAgent's built in feature.

What are the Yodel's features we are missing?
