Good but has bugs
first of all I would like to thank Appsumo for bringing great deals.
I am an online teacher and had been using Zoom for a few years. When the deal came out I got really excited since it did create a lot of enticement.
In addition to being a teacher, I am also a video editor, I edit my live classes and upload them to my online academy, so I know about fps and resolutions other video related stuff.
Being an online teacher, online class management is crucial for me and that is what I look in an online teaching/webinar platform.
The following are the Pros and Cons I have found after using Live Webinar for two weeks.
PROS:
The audio quality is great.
Concurrent sessions.
You can go live instantly.
Stream to Facebook.
You can create instant meetings.
The best part is you can have separate breakout room recordings which as of now no other platform provides according to my knowledge.
The platform is pretty straightforward.
CONS:
The platform lacks basic functionalities and it has bugs.
The registration system does not work as expected and is in the knowledge of their team. The support team said that it would take longer.
The breakout rooms once created can't be modified. It means that if you want move someone to another room, you can't. Nor can you add a newcomer to any breakout rooms unless you close them and start all over. I contacted support 6 days ago. They said that they would be able to solve the issue in a few days but they haven't yet.
You can mute/un-mute participants but you can't keep them muted by force. The microphone icon does not have a meter and if you have a few attendees and there's background noise, you can't tell where it is coming from. All online teachers can easily relate to it and how annoying and disturbing it can be.
The actual live webinar/meeting is not 30 fps, the quality is not HD and it is extremely pixelated but one can live with it.
You cannot play computer sound. They keep forcing you to upload audio/video files to the storage but many times they are on another website and cannot be uploaded to the storage.
Presenters on mobiles cannot share their screens.
You cannot connect to your Amazon S3 account. The support team has no idea how to connect. They keep pointing to a blog post explaining how to create a bucket, access key etc. I have contacted support several times informing them that I have already created a bucket, created an access key and a secret key but I was still unable to connect my S3 account. They respond once in 24 hours which is not helpful.
If you are thinking of getting 5 codes to have full HD recordings, you will be disappointed since LW is mistaking resolutions for full HD. If you don't believe, start a 14 day free trial of their business plan. The Full HD recordings are pixelated and not 30 fps per second. The only place you're going to feel any difference is their Youtube Player, but Full HD / 30 fps recordings don't apply to Youtube only. There's more but the system won't
