Good for Webinars, But It Won't Replace Zoom

I bought this offer at the five code level and gave it my first test yesterday.

First the good news ...
As many have mentioned here, it has a lot of bells and whistles, like the whiteboard which I look forward to using in a bigger way. It seems stable enough and I'm looking forward to trying it with several hundred people.

Now the bad news ...
The video quality is a real issue. It can pass in webinar mode because most often the slides take up most of the screen and the presenter's camera is small and in the corner.

In meeting mode is completely unusable. Not only is the video incredibly grainy, but people don't come into the meeting the same size. For an example, click the screenshot I took here: https://free-stuff-landing-pages-etc.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Screenshots/Live-Webinar-Screenshot.png

As long as you have four people or six people, you will all be the same size, but if you add the wrong number of people, then you end up like the guy in the bottom rectangle in that shot. This screenshot is stable and so the image sharpness doesn't look that bad compared to when everyone is moving. The woman in the upper right square of this image is more indicative of what everyone looks like.

Most disappointing of all was the response I received from the Live Webinar when I asked if they would be upgrading this in the future. I asked on this AppSumo forum and you can read their response here: http://appsumo.com/comments/cr/70/1790/#q313081 In short they said, we can't fix that.

I'm not sure why they can't fix that since everyone is the same size in Zoom (not to mention the video quality.) I would have preferred to hear, "It's difficult to fix it, but we have it on the list." I'd like to know that they are at least trying, because frankly, it's completely UNUSABLE in meeting mode.

If they want to be just a webinar service, then that's fine with me. Then I would recommend they put all of their resources into being the best webinar platform every and don't promote the meeting mode.

If you are buying this to replace Zoom, look elsewhere. This will not replace it and apparently won't replace it in the future either.

I totally understand that this is a new platform and in many regards, they seem eager to incorporate the feedback they are receiving here. I want to give them a chance and see what happens over the next 60 days. I want to love this platform and I hope after testing the webinar mode with a few hundred people, I do! But I'll still continue to use Zoom for my face-to-face training.
