ekriQ: Why must Tier 3 LTD users pay extra for reasoning models while new subscribers get them included?
Why are Tier 3 LTD users required to pay an additional fee for access to reasoning models, while new subscribers receive the same functionality included in the $12/month plan? A new customer gets full access without add-ons, yet an LTD user — who paid upfront earlier — must pay an extra $8.25/month for the same models.
A second issue: AppSumo explicitly guaranteed “all future Unlimited Plan updates,” and you still state publicly that “previous AppSumo customers will be grandfathered into any new features and feature limits.” This means LTD users already paid for future Unlimited Plan features. Charging LTD users again for reasoning models contradicts that guarantee.
Please clarify this inconsistency.

Here’s the confirmed situation:
- Reasoning AI models (GPT‑5 Pro, Gemini Pro 2.5, Opus 4.1) have very high operational costs. Including them automatically in all tiers, including LTD, would not be sustainable.
- LTD Tier 3 users already have standard + advanced AI models, grandfathered unlimited storage, and Team Dashboard + 2 free Tier 1 seats. The $8/month add-on was created to give LTD users access to reasoning models without changing or removing any of their existing benefits.
- New subscribers on the Unlimited plan receive reasoning models included because their subscription price supports ongoing operational costs. LTD users paid upfront at a fixed price years ago, so the add-on is the way to provide access to reasoning AI while keeping LTD benefits fully intact.
We hope this explanation clarifies why the add-on exists and how LTD users continue to enjoy all features they originally purchased.

The issue is not the cost of new models.
The Lifetime Tier 3 plan originally included API, BYOK, advanced/Unlimited models and all future Unlimited updates.
These were removed after purchase, so shifting part of the previously included functionality into a paid add-on cannot be considered “keeping LTD benefits intact.”
