Q: Do the "people" need to be external contacts with mails, or can I just write "meeting with Sue" without there ...
being an xternal person being connected - Like can I have people/people-workspaces without external connections?

Meetings are automatically tagged as "external" based on the participants in the meetings. You can manually update this category after creating the meeting.
