I currently manage over 150 clients using this service. Unfortunately, whenever one client receives even a few spam complaints, the provider suspends my entire account. This means all 150 of my clients are affected at once. This issue has been recurring. The most recent suspension has lasted for over a week. Despite sending around four emails and filling out their contact form to address the suspension, I've yet to receive any response. Such practices are unacceptable for any business. If there's a spam complaint, the logical step should be to suspend only the website in question, not the entirety of my websites. It seems like MailPoet's strategy is essentially to push us to stop using their service. I suspect they're applying this approach particularly to those with AppSumo lifetime deals, likely because these accounts don't generate ongoing revenue. Offering a lifetime deal without the intention to honour it is misleading and shouldn't happen.
I have been a long-time MailPoet customer, and snapped this deal up when it came along. I love the convenience of having everything in my WP dashboard, and so was willing to overlook the lack of other features such as automations etc.
But after getting shut down time after time after time - and always in the middle of a major event - I am through.
They don't tell you who sent in a spam complaint, which is very frustrating because I have NEVER added anyone to my list - they are all optin!
This means that someone else has full control over your business and you have no way to fight back.
And they never respond in a timely fashion - this means that you are unable to send out a newsletter for several days because they do not work weekends! If you have a suspension on Thursday - you will probably not hear anything from them until the following Tuesday.
Initially, I had passed this deal as it seemed that it is sending mails from our wordpress server and still limiting the number of subscribers. But, later I realized that the limitations are valid only if we are using Mailpoet's server to send emails. If the host's server is used, everything is unlimited. If used with WooCommerce, it becomes a very powerful tool to send emails to people who have abandoned their cart. Best email plugin that I have used so far!
I purchased this deal some time ago, and, thinking I could grow with the accounts, stacked 10 deals.
A couple of days ago, I went to set up the service on a new domain. The domain, brand new, new install of Wordpress and of MailPoet, had never been registered elsewhere.
I went to set up my first list, and added two email addresses that were my own. I was only able to confirm one email address. I sent a test email to that address; it was never received.
I then tried to reconfirm the other address; the reconfirmation was never received.
So I contacted support, and received a reply from Bruna, who at once said:
- that my domain had been suspended because it was deemed as "risky" (It's a new domain with no history, I had sent zero other emails from the domain other than the two test emails I sent to my own email addresses, that never even got sent by MailPoet in the first place,) - that the reason for the suspension had nothing to do with my domain or the emails sent - but she couldn't tell me WHY there was a suspension because "spammers could get around it" - that I should use a third party email service with MailPoet and that I should upgrade my plan in order to use that third party service with more than 1,000 subscribers
Why I'd do this instead of just using the third party service, I don't know, so that's what I'm going to do. They say I can use other domains on my account, but at the risk of sending less than two emails to my own email addresses as a test and then getting suspended, I'm not sure what the point is and I don't want to waste my time.
This is honestly the worst experience I have ever had dealing with any business online, ever.

I have gone from #1 fan to adios.

All my WordPress sites with Mailpoet
I tried other tools like Snedfox before buying this offer.
I had used Mailpoet only in the free version.
It is a simple but versatile tool. If you work with WordPress and WooCommerce, don't hesitate: buy it.
I just wish that in the future we can have a little more advanced automation but it is a great start to communicate with your users and buyers.
