Is this for one (1) registered website/domain? This verbiage confuses me "With this AppSumo offer you can purchase lifetime access to one-click updates sent up to 5 licensed sites."
A: Hi, I confuse myself sometimes as well. :) but it's actually simple:
1) you get one license key that lasts a lifetime 2) the license key can be activated on 2 sites, which enables that site to receive one click updates of the MD theme and official drop-ins (similar to plugins but easier) 3) as a bonus: you can use MD on as many sites as you own but only your licensed sites are eligible for one...

Q: Does this deal include lifetime updates, or just one year?
My purchase history shows that that the license will expire 1 year from today.
A: Hi Slimworks! This is a lifetime deal. After you verify your account I have to manually mark your account as lifetime, so it may not be accurate until I do so! Thanks for taking part in this deal.
Q: Sorry but the 2 sites per code is a laughing matter.
Nowadays, almost all the wordpress theme deals you see on Appsumo and others offer a lot more, with many have unlimited site licenses. Your 2 sites per code is too limiting. Unless you change your model, it is a no for me.
A: Hi, always glad to share a laugh! The deal will be changing to a 1 site activation instead of two pretty soon. In case there is any confusion, you aren't limited to how many sites you can use MD on just how many sites receive updates through the WP admin (theme + drop-in updates)
