TextSniper - OCR Simplified Reviews

Practical, easy to use. I recommend it to anyone who owns a Mac. It comes in handy all of the time. I manage a social media agency so I move through tons of content; videos, PDFs, landing page, social media channels, and more. This makes grabbing what I need quick and easy. Impressive product!!

I don't usually write reviews, but this tool is one of the best things I've bought from AppSumo.

It saves me a ton of time at work, EVERY single DAY.

I've even set it up to start automatically with my system.

It's a fantastic tool!

My only suggestion is that you add more plans on Appsumo.

In my case, I need it for four Macs, but the only plan available is for three.

A plan for four Macs or one for "unlimited" Macs would be very helpful (and that way I can upgrade instantly).

I bought this on impulse, not sure how much I'd use it. Turns out that I use it almost daily. Most often, I use it to capture bits of text from PDFs that aren't OCR-ready. I've also paused YouTube videos and captured info shown as video overlay. Makes pasting into a browser for internet research a breeze. Pasting into task lists. Lots of uses. Must-have for Mac.

Great product. Writes very well. Can recognized many different fonts and scriptoverlayed on photos and pdf's.

I just bought TextSniper and the fact that it lives in the menu bar makes it more difficult to use. I had hoped for a basic feature of simply adding an image or even bulk add several images that I want to extract the text from. I have several screenshots on my computer that I would have to open, make another screenshot from so that the app can extract the text. Actually not helpful at all for my use case ... which I believe is a basic use case. Importing can only be done from mobile devices. And "importing" in fact , means the camera on the mobile device is triggered and can be used to make a photo. I dont understand, why I cannot simply add already made screenshots.
