Q: Hi Spencer, is there any update on when the Gist integration may be live?
I saw it has been in "Under Consideration" for quite some time now. Unfortunately will probably have to refund if there is no deadline for it as it is what we use. Thanks
A: Hey Karate Kid, I am just now seeing this. We are working add to add all the integrations on the list. In the last 30 days we have add Zendesk, Crisp, Dixa, and JivoChat.
We have also spoke with the ChatHQ team and the MyAlice team who are preparing APIs for us.
Unfortunately I can not give you and ETA on Gist and understand if you need to refund. With that said, I promise we will build it. Please be patient.
A: Yes, if we built a chrome extension then Median would work across all the tabs. The issue is, you would be able to see everything someone is doing on any website without asking for permission (assuming they have the extension installed).
That is a bit too invasive for us at the moment, but we have been thinking about it.
A: Roye, Median is screen share for only your assets. Meaning screen share will only work where the Median code is installed. So you will not be able to see other sites or the desktop.
With the current deal, I can't add my Median code to my clients' sites, otherwise each of them would see all the other sites (even mine and those of my other clients). I'm fine to buy a Median Appsumo deal for each of my clients, the problem is that the Appsumo deal will end and I'll not be able anymore to provide Median to my new customers. Any solution for this case? Thanks
A: Hello MD, this is a very common question we have noticed with the AppSumo community.
As of right now we do not have an agency plan, but it has become very obvious that we need one.
As a result, my team and I are working on a affiliate program that will allow our partners like yourself to make money by referring customers to Median.
MD please email me at Partners@HelloMedian.com. I would like to get your feedback on what an ideal affiliate agreement looks like.
An affiliate program is very different from a (normal AppSumo) agency plan. To see a good agency plan take a look at the MakersHost offer: 10 stacked codes gives you an infinite number of accounts with an infinite number of sites in each account. (The only catch is that they don't provide tech support to your clients—only to you, and you provide tech support to your clients.)
An affiliate program is just a way for you to make money from our clients, and not the sort of thing anyone gets excited about.
Would you consider offering a real GOOD agency plan?
Iconoclast, we are likely not going to offer an agency plan any time soon.
With that said, we plan on building tools that will allow Median customers to assign agents to specific websites. Based on your comments above I think this could be a solution for you, but in full transparency, that is not high on our development roadmap at the moment.
Thanks for your feedback
Q: Would you pretty please 🙏🏼 consider adding security controls to allow certain agents to only see the desktops of users from a specific site?
Without that it really severely limits the usefulness
AFAIU, Median doesn't share the user's desktop at all. Instead, it mirrors the browser user's session as long they access *your*website* (and only your website).
Q: According to Q&A, I know:
With 1 code, I can have 5 concurrent agents.
And they can support unlimited websites which installed Median code.
An agent can even support more than one user at the same time as long as he opens the second and 3rd screen on different tabs/windows. But basically the best experience is 1-to-1 support, I think. ----- 1. Can the admin restrict: Agent A can only support Website A and Agent B can only support Website B?
2. While an agent is controlling a tab (website C), he clicks a link that opens a new tab for website D (the same Median code is installed, too.), what will happen? Can the agent switch between the tabs of website C and D? Or he needs to ask the client to do it?
A: 1. No, not at this moment. Prior to AppSumo our customer base typically only supported 1 website. We are exploring this functionality.
2. If Median is installed on both sites, Median will seamlessly follow the user as they navigate between pages and sites.
With that said, I would recommend purchasing a code and taking Median for a test drive. If you are unhappy for any reason, AppSumo offers a 60 day full refund.

If I install the Median code on my site, does that mean it only works for sharing my site with someone? How about if I want to help clients on their site? Do they need to install the code on each of their sites if I want to help them? I'm pretty sure that's not the case, but I'm confused about how it works.
A: Correct, Median can only screen share where our code is installed.
If you want to help clients on their site, then you would need to have your Median code installed on their site.
Median is designed for fast, easy customer support of the assets you own or support. If screen share is need on 3rd party sites or tools, then Median likely isn't a good fit....
Unless you can install you Median code on those assets.
I am still confused. Does it mean I need to ask my client to give me client login credentials for me to embed the code in the client sites only to have a screen share tutorial?
What happened after the problem was solved? I need to log in to my client's website and remove the code?
Yes. Median is a JS application. Meaning, if the Median code is not installed on the page you want to screen share with... Then you can not screen share on that page...
So if you want to screen share on your clients pages, then you will have to install the Median code on their pages.
Izzul, if you need to offer screen share support on pages or sites that you do not own or manage, then I would not recommend Median.
Median is designed to make it easy to support ONLY your websites. If you need to support other sites that you don't have access to install code on, then Zoom, Teamviewer, or Google Meet, may be a better solution.
Q: I purchased it yesterday and I have 2 questions:
1- Can we hear a doorbell sound (alert) each time someone visits the website?
2- Is it possible to change the visitor ID to something short and simple to identify the visitor?
1- Can we hear a doorbell sound (alert) each time someone visits the website? I love this idea and it is on our roadmap. In fact, internally we have a door bell noise but it is from our chat provider which is why we never built our own door bell.
2- Is it possible to change the visitor ID to something short and simple to identify the visitor? Yes, we have an identify API that can be found here (https://developer.hellomedian.com/#identifying-visitors) It requires 1 line of code and we can pull user names into Median. Email me at AppSumo@HelloMedian.com if you have further questions on this.
What does 25 concurrent agents' means? And how do they access Median? I need to invite them to my workspace, or they have their own workspace and I only need to assign them to the client's website?
25 concurrent agents means 25 people can be signed in at once.
How do they access Median? They sign in at app.HelloMedian.com. Once, signed in they will be able to support every visitor on your website in real time.
Median allows your support team to see every page the Median code is installed. Median can offer real time screen share across multiple websites.
I hope this helps. If you have more questions please let me know.
Or
I recommend taking advantage of this promotion and testing Median out. If you are un happy for any reason AppSumo offers a 60 days money back guarantee.
Hope to see you on the other side.
Q: Can it be installed/used on Drupal and Joomla sites?
Feel free to snag some codes and give Median a try. If you don't love the product AppSumo will refund 100% of your money up to 60 days.
Q: What about RGPD, in Europe, we have to be very careful about privacy and cookie agreement.
I use Iubenda for that (another Appsumo Deal), user can not accept to have cookie tracking. Will those sessions not be accessible on Median? Is Median RGPD friendly?
A: Hey Francois, I am not familiar with Lubenda, but I will look into it. If Lubenda interferers with the Median cookies in any way, our app will not work because we wont be able to identify visitors. Our cookie contains a unique id for each visitor, if the Median viewer can not recognize the ID then it will not be able to connect.
As far as RGPD, we do not advertise that we are compliant. We are GDPR and CCPA compliant because we do NOT store ANY visitor data along with a number of other requirements. I hope this helps.
Q: Hi,
We currently use RemoteHQ but would be interested in Median as a costs effective alternative in the longer term.
Currently, there are certain features that we use in RemoteHQ that, at some stage in the future, we would need to move over. I am hoping you can help provide some insight into your plans for these please: 1 Are there plans to support video sessions / spoken voice that be used at same time as co-browsing? 2 Can a session be started via a URL sent to the client, or bound to a button click event in UI? Thanks in advance! Richard
A: Hey Richard, I am glad you asked. We have been working on a video product for the last 8 months and it should be live in the next 60 days. It allows for full video and audio while cobrowsing.
Richard, YES, a screen share can be started via a link sent to the client, here is an example of that (https://www.median.video/?ref=RichardP). Unfortunately we do not have a feature that will notify support agents at the moment.
BUT we do this today via DRIFT on HelloMedian.com. We have a "show me" button that triggers an alert in our chat tool that will kick off a session.
I hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Unfortunately no, the streaming of video and audio is very server intensive and we can not financially support a life time deal offer for it.
Q: Hi,
For those who do not want to add an extra floating widget to their site, and is not using the below ...
listed applications - is there any other way to trigger the screenshare. Like via a link (or API call?) that we can deliver to the visitor any way we want? For exemple via email, other chat, etc. Cheers!
A: Hey Marco, great question. The answer is yes and no.
There is no way today for a customer to request help through a Median tool, BUT if they ask for help via a Chat, Email, or Phone call, then we can help.
For a phone call we have a feature called phone mode. The customer can call in and say "I need help". A support agent can ask the customer to press Ctrl 5 times on their keyboard and the customer will have a support code pop up. They can read that code to a support agent who can start a screen share.
For Chat or Email, I like to create custom links. For example, check out this page (www.Median.video?ref=Marco). This is a page we built for 1 to 1 demos. I can send this link via email or chat and when someone clicks it, I know who they are because of the ?ref= command and we can start a screen share.
I hope this was helpful. If you want to give Median a try, I would recommend buying a code from AppSumo and testing out the product. If you don't like it AppSumo will let you refund and get 100% of your money back in the first 60 days.
Q: Does the Chat js script need to be installed on EVERY page that the Median code is installed?
For example, we have 25-pages for data entry etc. for our Financial Software that are protected with a SSL.
We only need to demo 15x of the 25 pages ... does that mean we would need to install the Chat js script + the Median code ONLY on the pages that we want to show/demo?
A: I would recommend installing Median in the body of your site so screen share functionality will work on every page with 1 code install.
Using Median's dashboard you will be able to see every visitor on your site and the page they are on. Since you will be able to see the URL they are on, you can pick and choose who you wish to support.
To answer your question more specifically, YES, Median will only work on the pages the code is installed. If you only want it to work on 15 pages, then you can install the code on those 15 pages.
Great question. You can easily use Median as a stand-alone screen share tool. Our dashboard will give you a list of every visitor on your site in real-time. Just click the user you want to screen share with and Median will start a session.
It's important to note, right now we don't offer an "ask for help" button that triggers Median.
I would recommend using email, phone, or a ticketing system for users to ask for help.
Q: Hi,
The demonstration of the screen is an excellent functionality.
As are the terms of your offer on Appsumo.
Perhaps this question has already sounded, but I would like to clarify before buying. What are the alternatives: - if there is no chat on the site; - there is no official integration with the chat (or there is no specialist to independently connect via the API); - there is no possibility to press the keyboard 5 times (the user uses a mobile phone);
Can you suggest an alternative method to connect the support service? And when are they planning to implement it? Thanks.
We have a couple of options if there is no chat. 1 - We have a phone mode where if you hit Ctrl on our site (or yours) a customer will be prompted with a screen share code they can read to a support rep. 2 - You can send customer screen share URLs like this one (https://www.median.video/?ref=sevenLab) 3 - We have an API that will identify your users INSIDE of Median. Here is the info on that (https://developer.hellomedian.com/#identifying-visitors)
If you do not have a specialist on had to connect to our API, then someone on our team can hop on a screen share and set it up for you.
As far as phone mode goes on the cell phone, this one is tricky assuming we didn't connect the API and the Ctrl button doesn't work... The best answer would be to email or text the user a screen share link.
A major take away that we have had from this AppSumo promotion is that a large number of our new customers do not have a commutation platform (or one we are not connected with) integrated with their website or tool. As a result we are exploring solutions around triggering support requests directly to Median via a button or some automated trigger. This has been added to our roadmap.
If you sign up please let me know via email and I personally with configure Median with your tool and show you how to deploy URL driven support requests like we are doing on HelloMedian.com with our "Show Me" button.

One more Q ... do we HAVE TO have a chat app in order to activate the screen share or can use Median as a "stand-alone" button on our web pages?
Great question. You can easily use Median as a stand-alone screen share tool. Our dashboard will give you a list of every visitor on your site in real-time. Just click the user you want to screen share with and Median will start a session.
It's important to note, right now we don't offer an "ask for help" button that triggers Median.
I would recommend using email, phone, or a ticketing system for users to ask for help.

Thanks Spencer ... loving the App.
Q: Hi, The demonstration of the screen is an excellent functionality.
As are the terms of your offer on Appsumo.
Perhaps this question has already sounded, but I would like to clarify before buying.
What are the alternatives:
- if there is no chat on the site;
- there is no official integration with the chat (or there is no specialist to independently connect via the API);
- there is no possibility to press the keyboard 5 times (the user uses a mobile phone);
Can you suggest an alternative method to connect the support service? And when are they planning to implement it?
Thanks.

May 14, 2024A: Hey sevenLab,
We have a couple of options if there is no chat.
1 - We have a phone mode where if you hit Ctrl on our site (or yours) a customer will be prompted with a screen share code they can read to a support rep.
2 - You can send customer screen share URLs like this one (https://www.median.video/?ref=sevenLab)
3 - We have an API that will identify your users INSIDE of Median.
Hopefully we will see you on the other side.
