Q: Thrilled! But...
I just bought Tier 2 with my husband's account (he's got Appsumo Plus) and the first impression is giddy enthusiasm!
BUT.
When I invited him to join the call, he could see a lot of buttons and settings for the room that I believe will be very confusing for a regular attendee. Is there a way to disable the additional settings for users? (Especially as they're all in English and my attendees are in Spanish).
In particular, attendees get to see the full Menu, "Start Recording", "Stream manager", and "Widgets". For me, that's a big problem.
Please let me know. Hope you can iron out these small things soon, since this product is so MASSIVELY better than Zoom (and also better than WebinarKit Live, which is super pricey).
PS. By the way, the automatic captioning in another language is SUPER COOL. I'm in love!

Apr 12, 2025A: For captions and translations, you have to pick the “room language” in room settings and the feature will only caption / translate from that language. One exception, if you ask the UI to show you captions in another language, we will assume you are speaking the same language you pick.
We are releasing a UI improvement to make that much more obvious next week.
As for guests seeing things they don’t have access to, that’s part of strategy to teach people how to run their own meeting and get comfortable with the service so they become customers. Sneaky, eh? :-)
Happy the UI will be improving! As per that "sneaky feature"... I'd rather be able to define what they see. I think some of my more "plain" customers will be clicking around and feeling confused. I see what you mean, but I'd rather they could not see a stream manager, recording options and widgets when I want them to focus on my teaching. (But I'll be happy to do a video tutorial as an affiliate!)

Gotcha. FYI: They cannot see your widgets... just the widget icon. They would see a message saying they need to be a host or above if they clicked on "Widgets"

Oh, and I'd be happy to set up a custom landing page for your tutorial when you're ready for the affiliate promotion!
Thanks Rick! I’ll have to live with the visible buttons (I’d love for you to enable hiding them, though). As for the landing page, ideally in Spanish, sounds great! Should I contact the support email from inside Meetn for that?
I have a public webinar on the 25th, so I’ll be able to test it for real!

Yes, please send it to support. Thx!!🙏
Rick, I noticed this also and would prefer guest / audience to not see the widget icons or at least have the option to hide widget icons for a more clean and professional UI. I like to have the full attention of my viewers!

I am outvoted and I shall add that to the list!
I will "plus one" the option to hide. I cater to entrepreneurs and I'm sure they would be much more likely to buy into using MeetN if they knew they could hide those buttons from attendees in their own meetings.
Agreed. No buttons attendees can't use = less distraction and better focus and experience.
I agree, and same here "wildenotions". -- Thanks Rick to feel outvoted! :D Super grateful. It does feel unprofessional to show buttons that clutter the space and are not functional to the user. Thank you!!! (Hope you can get them hidden by April 25th when I have my upcoming webinar)
Thanks for being so receptive Rick! I agree, not only would I like the buttons they don't have control over hidden, I'd love to be able to minimize the entire toolbar so their focus is 100% on the video. That would also make things like pop ups and exit urls that much more powerful.
Another upvote here to hide all the extra buttons!

Hehe :) I yield to the majority. We will do this
Thanks Rick for doing this. We will all love it even more!
One more vote for this, as I will be using Meetn with both adults and kids, the less distraction the better, thanks Rick! <3
I purchased the software recently, and I will keep it. But I agree with the need to be able to hide these buttons. I have 1-on-1 sales video calls and need the clients to see as few options as possible. I would appreciate it if this could be implemented.
Here's another upvote to hide all those extra buttons! :)
