Another lifetime deal that lasted 2 years
Bought on June 2024 with high hope, and i get the most expensive plan, and initially everything went smooth.
Now, as August 2026, there is no update from the team or model, their X account has no post (if i recall the last one was on may and then they removed every post).
So far 4 lifetime deals that I bought lasted around 2 years, maybe this too will be another waste of money.
With the help of AI more tool are rising and this plague will hit more strong.
Last month took another "lifetime deal" but I think will be the last one, there is no point in wating money.
I had a chance to spoke with Noah Kagan, about this things, it ended without a reply after a few chat.

It's a good app, but I feel like they're going to stop.
Now they update the model super slowly, and they also cancel the MCP service. This is terrible. I hope that they can give MCP back or make an API key or CLI. I know browsers like Comet can do a lot of what this app can do, but I also see that they are trying to make an AI agent. I hope it can be successful for them, but please don't forget about this app.

Not getting YouTube key points and email rewrite
The primary reason I liked Merlin and continued using it was its ability to instantly capture key points and summaries from YouTube videos and provide summaries for better learning. Lately, the feature has stopped showing up on the right side of YouTube videos. I used to use it to get scene-by-scene summaries, key points, and complete summaries of any video. Without this immediate YouTube functionality, Merlin has very little use for me.
Another missing feature is that whenever I wrote an email in Gmail, the Merlin AI logo showed up below the email. Clicking it will nicely rewrite the email. I am unsure why these features have stopped working. Was it due to an update or a transition from the classic version to the latest version?
Please let me know how I can revert to the old side-by-side YouTube summary and key points.
