Merlin started off well but is no longer usable. Everytime I try use it the response is that I've used all my credits and I need to Upgrade to Pro. The problem is that I haven't used it for a long time so there should be plenty of credits. Contacting Support was unhelpful saying that I needed to wait for my credits to reset each month, but after a few months of not being able to use it I'm fed up with the software and Merlin support. I would refund if I could.

I purchased Merlin License Tier 1 through AppSumo, but I have had repeated reliability issues.

I started with approximately 5,000 credits. Nearly 2,500 credits have been consumed, including for tasks that did not complete or provide an answer. The latest task remained unfinished, yet credits were deducted.

The issue is not limited to one request. In my use, results have often been inconsistent or incorrect, which leads to retries and additional credit use. That makes it difficult to rely on the product for regular work.

I haven't used this extension in months, but I recently noticed charges on my credit card. I contacted support and turned off "Auto-renew top-ups."

A couple of days later, I found it had been switched back on, the top-up limit had been increased, and my card was charged twice more.

I sent support screenshots showing no activity for months, with my projects, vault, and prompts all empty. They replied that my account had used between 10,000 and 50,000 credits per day. There is no API key on my account, so it can't be a rogue app.

Support keeps saying the credits were used, but has not provided any audit trail showing that my account was the one that used them.

I am still working with support to resolve this and will update my review with the outcome.

In the meantime, I would encourage other buyers to check their billing settings and card statements regularly.

Bought on June 2024 with high hope, and i get the most expensive plan, and initially everything went smooth.

Now, as August 2026, there is no update from the team or model, their X account has no post (if i recall the last one was on may and then they removed every post).

So far 4 lifetime deals that I bought lasted around 2 years, maybe this too will be another waste of money.

With the help of AI more tool are rising and this plague will hit more strong.

Last month took another "lifetime deal" but I think will be the last one, there is no point in wating money.

I had a chance to spoke with Noah Kagan, about this things, it ended without a reply after a few chat.

Now they update the model super slowly, and they also cancel the MCP service. This is terrible. I hope that they can give MCP back or make an API key or CLI. I know browsers like Comet can do a lot of what this app can do, but I also see that they are trying to make an AI agent. I hope it can be successful for them, but please don't forget about this app.
