Merlin is a welcome addition to anyone looking to simplify their research and writing process. I found the tool to be very user-friendly, fast, and reliable. I also like how well it interacts with certain website content and social media platforms.

Since it's still in its early stages, I found a few bugs which I have reported to the team. For example, I was excited to try out the browser extension in order to begin using the summarizer and Merlin's other social media writing tools. However, I was quickly disappointed when the Edge version would not properly sync with my account which rendered the add-on useless. Luckily the Chrome version works properly in Edge without any issues. Overall, the summarizer is a very convenient way to quickly get the gist of a video in a timestamped outline format. Also, you're able to get a full transcript which surprisingly does not generate any queries!

One small item that I feel can be improved is how queries are calculated for summarizing YouTube videos. To get an idea of how many approximate queries will be deducted for the summarizing task, you simply hover over the summarize button under the video. However, I noticed that it often overestimates its initial calculation by almost double the actual query amount. So far, I haven't noticed it deducting more queries than it has estimated but I feel that the initial calculation formula could be improved to bring it closer to the actual amount that will be deducted.

I also had an opportunity to use the mobile app. Unlike the desktop version, the mobile app isn't as versatile as it can't directly interact with web pages or mobile versions of LinkedIn or Gmail. So while I may not use the mobile app as much, it's still packed with a ton of useful tools that make it worthwhile in the long run.

Overall, Merlin shows a lot of promise and I hope the team continues to improve it.
