Q: Hello Sebastian, Firstly congratulations on the plugin.

It looks fantastic and I’m really keen on grabbing one of the unlimited keys.

I have a few quick questions regarding how Microthemer’s css optimisation works with Divi however as i use Divi for most of my production sites.

Firstly if I enable microthemer will it automatically restructure and optimise the css of divi built pages as well or will these optimisation only work for css changes I make using microthemer?

Secondly if microthemer does optimise divi css as well then can I potentially turn off the css optimisations from the the divi performance settings or will these worki in tandem?

Thank you
Dimitri.

A: Thanks for your feedback. I've updated the copy on my home page now to make clearer that it's just Microthemer CSS. I think I need to wait a few weeks before requesting a change to the AppSumo copy, as per their rules.

The reason I haven't thought too much about extending Microthemer's asset optimisations is that other plugins do that job pretty well. I use WP Rocket, which I'm very happy with. It's requires an annual subscription, but there is also LiteSpeed Cache, which is free and has 4 million installs.

Having said that, I have considered adding a feature where Microthemer's conditional logic options for folders could be used for the purpose of dequeuing CSS and JavaScript files in the theme or other plugins. But I haven't got as far as reviewing if that's a valid USP. And if I do go ahead with it, it might be best delivered as a separate plugin anyway.

I'm here if you have any more questions :)

Cheers,
Sebastian

Hey Dimitri,

Thanks for your questions.

Microthemer only optimises it's own CSS. It doesn't take over management of CSS assets in other themes / plugins in the way a caching plugin might. I've had two questions on this recently, so I think I need to update the copy on my home page and possibly this deal page, just to clarify. But in any case, you don't need to worry about Microthemer affecting Divi stylesheets.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian, thanks for the quick response. I think it’s the emphasis on speed/optimisation that makes one wonder if it does some take over. I do think that if there was a way to work that in at some point that would be just amazing but I digress.

I will possibly still invest as I can see it being and asset and also supports you guys keep doing great work :)

Cheers!
