Q: Is the MCP Server feature worth it?
Hi
Could you give us insights what features the mcp Server has and could you give examples what use cases can be handled by the server.
Also I would like to know if one can put all the translated pages in our own server so we don’t.run into your delivery limits.
What exactly will the coming soon byok feature make possible? Which limits will it spare and influence?
Thank you

Aug 9, 2026A: Hi,
To be transparent, this is only the first version of our MCP Server, and we’re already receiving a lot of valuable feedback that we’re planning to implement.
Currently, MCP allows you to onboard projects through prompts, retrieve project details, and manage things like Glossary and Translation Memory directly through your AI agent. We’ll continue expanding its capabilities.
Regarding self-hosting translated pages, we don’t currently offer this because an incorrect setup could negatively impact your website. Also, from our experience with 1,000+ onboarded websites, it’s very rare for customers to hit their page-view limits. If it becomes a genuine limitation for your website, we can discuss a custom self-hosted approach with you.
For BYOK, our team is heavily focused on the current launch and several user-requested improvements. For example, we’ve just built the ability to adjust element height and width through the Visual Editor, which is currently in testing and should be live by Monday EOD.
I’m aiming to bring BYOK back by the end of August, although the timeline may vary slightly. But I’ll make sure we have it live before mid-September.

Could imagine making the mcp available in lower tiers, since it is just developing … I think many would appreciate this

Thanks for the suggestion!
I'm sorry, but we can't move the MCP feature to lower tiers at this stage. The deal structure is already set, and many Sumo-lings have already purchased based on these exact allocations, so changing them mid-campaign wouldn't be fair to existing buyers.
