Muraena has received positive feedback from customers, particularly praising its extensive lead database, responsive support, and AI search functionality. However, there have been occasional reports of outdated data and limited email verification success. Despite these minor issues, Muraena remains a solid choice for those seeking a powerful B2B lead generation tool, especially considering the 60-day money-back guarantee.

Mostly very bad leads.

I had been sending 200-400 emails scraped from Sales Navigator daily for the past two years, consistently booking 2-3 meetings each day with my sequence. I decided to try Muraena to see if I could save some money on automation tools, but the leads were extremely poor quality. If you're in a non-English-speaking country, the leads are even worse. I'm in France, and when I tried to contact the leads they had for Paris, none of them even spoke French. The domain I had been using for years to send emails is now blacklisted everywhere, probably because Muraena's lists are full of spam traps. Overall, I would not recommend this tool at all. Cheers.

Hi! We always recommend using a 3rdrd-party email validation tool to filter out invalid emails, as there's always a small percentage that can be invalid. Even platforms like Zoominfo or Apollo will have some invalid emails in their lists, and they typically charge extra credits for validation.

Quality Leads

I've just started to use Muraena, but it seems like it has a very solid list of leads. I'd like a few more functions to narrow down the filtering, but it looks good so far.

Nice UI, poor data

I tested this thoroughly to see if the data is 'usable'.

I picked around 10 different niches from dentists to counselors to chefs and several other industries, and I got over 14k emails, which was a great start.

However, I needed to verify the emails to see if they are valid / usable. When I put the emails through reoon email verifier (one of the best and most reliable email verification tools) I was getting around 20% valid emails across the board, which is way below industry standards.

I would expect a poor lead gen tool to be achieve around 30-50% valid emails. Anything above 60% valid is acceptable, with better performing tools getting around 80% valid emails.

20% is just way too low and would suggest to me that the data is completely outdated and / or poorly sourced.

It's a shame because they have a really nice UI. Sadly, the UI doesn't help me make money so had to refund.

Probably deserves 1 taco but giving 2 since they respond to q&a, seem to have good customer service and claim to be working on improving the data.

I may try again in future if they return but it's not worth keeping for this low quality data as it is.

Hey there, sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the email quality. We believe that the reason might be in your specific export segment or validation tool that you've used, since usually we have 5-20% invalid emails for work emails, and ~5% for personal ones.

We're updating our data in batches on a monthly basis, and all our database has been updated no later than 4 months ago. Right now...

The AI interface is horrible

When you describe your perfect customer, the AI seems to merely look for keywords that can be turned into search criteria. If you say your customer is "in the US or another wealthy country", it will only pick up "the US". Lots of other things are ignored that can't be translated in the simplest possible way to a specific filter.

Furthermore, it appears that when you give examples separated by "OR", they are instead treated like they were separated by "AND" when you do a search.

And on top of that, your text is lost forever after you enter it. It is impossible to hit the back button to tweak it in ways that you think will improve the results. If you forgot to copy it to the clipboard, you're out of luck.

Hey, it seems like you haven't understood the logic behind our AI filter. In the app, we provide examples of how the AI search works best, displayed just below the input text field. A few key points to note:

1. The AI search is still in beta, and this is mentioned in the Muraena app. The core value of Muraena lies not just in the AI search, but in the combination of our data, search mechanics,...
