I've been using this tool since the last APPSUMO campaign, and unfortunately I can't recommend it in its current state.

As in the title, I've been using this tool for a while now and it has been working, has been good, but since their last update, everything has gone downhill.

The iOS app just doesn't work properly; the Android app doesn't work properly now, and the extensions are starting to go wrong. Even though you look for an update to the extension, there is none. I'm currently on the latest extension, and it just doesn't work.

What are the main problems?

Unfortunately, the apps keep logging themselves out all the time. On iOS, I can't take a YouTube video and send it through Share because it's logged out, so I have to log in. This happens all the time, whereas before it never happened. But even worse, when you add it, it doesn't summarize. It just has a tag that says “summarize,” but it never does. So I have to delete it and try again, and sometimes it works, but it doesn't always bring in the thumbnail either. Also, with the iOS app, you were able to resummarize if it failed. It's not even there anymore, so you can't do it. You have to delete, go and get the link again, and re‑add it. And if it doesn't happen, rinse and repeat.

Now, with the Android app, there are constant logouts, and all their memocasts are broken. I don't know what the problem is. The extension, which used to work perfectly, now doesn't work properly at all. When you try it, it keeps logging you out. I've just added several web pages, and they're stuck at summarizing, which is no good. Can't update since I'm on the latest update. Finally, when it successfully pulls in, the thumbnail is often not brought in either. You think you’ll add the thumbnail, so you add it, but when you view it in the list of items, the icon appears broken. Pointless is adding a thumbnail, mainly because this doesn't work.

I think my memo really needs to go back to basics and look at why their complete thing is collapsed.

I don't put this review lightly; I'm trying to be constructive here, but I really just can't recommend it at this time, and I'm waiting for it to be fixed.

Thank you again for the detailed feedback and for supporting MyMemo since our previous AppSumo campaign.

The login/logout issue you mentioned has now been fixed, and things should be working normally again. Please give it another try.

What happened was that we recently released a major new version of MyMemo, but the browser extension and mobile apps were not fully synchronized during the rollout, which caused issues with authentication and summarization on some devices. We’ve now completed the synchronization and stabilized the system.

Regarding the frequent logouts: our development team had temporarily shortened the login session duration to improve security, but we realized it negatively affected usability. We’ve already adjusted it back to a longer session period (around one week), so you should no longer experience constant logouts.

We’ve also been fixing the summarization queue and related issues across iOS, Android, and the extension.
