Hi David!
Yes, the 5xx errors in April were a temporary issue due to our old server providers not being able to face all the requests from AppSumo users.
We have now switched to AWS after that, and we did not have any major outage in the latest 5 months.
The upcoming v2 will have different servers in different zones to reduce the latency for the end users.
