Might be great but is so unneccesarily confusing

I’ve only used regular (non-Gutenberg) page builders, and they’ve all been so much easier than Nexter. It should be simple and seamless, yet I find myself spending hours just trying to do basic things like a carousel. When using their templates, it gets even worse!

The AI is the best shot you have at making anything work, since the first half (or more) of every video is more about upgrading than actually teaching. As usual, the training seems made for people who already know exactly how to use every facet, with no consideration for beginners. Even their ‘Getting Started’ series tells you nothing about using Gutenberg or the differences you’ll run into. It goes straight from ‘here’s how to install it’ to the next (unnatural) step in the process, leaving out a ton in between.

It has taken me hours to make a simple header (and I do mean simple), not to mention the time wasted on the carousel. I’m not sure if this is total garbage yet, but it’s starting to feel like it. (And honestly, I don’t care how long they’ve been in business — if anything, being around longer means they should know better!)

Edit: Tacos. Note: If it "clicks" and begins to make my life easier I'll come back and update this. So far it's been over a day since my last support, however.

Thank you for being so open about your experience.

I can completely understand how this feels confusing if you’ve been working with non-Gutenberg builders before. Gutenberg works differently at its core, and that can feel like an extra hurdle at first.

That said, we’re just about to release a new template import process within the next week, and this will make things much smoother, especially...

Nexter — Executive Product Review (WordPress Site‑Building Suite)

Executive Summary

Nexter is a performance‑first WordPress suite that pairs a lightweight theme with a comprehensive set of Gutenberg blocks and a large template library. It targets agencies, freelancers, and SMBs that need fast, maintainable websites without many third‑party plugins. The product’s architecture and roadmap reflect a strong commitment to speed, modularity, and practical workflows.

Strengths — What Nexter Excels At

- Performance and cleanliness: The theme is intentionally minimal; with optimized assets and solid hosting it delivers excellent page‑speed results.
- Rich block set: 90+ Gutenberg blocks let creators build complex layouts inside the native editor, improving maintainability and forward compatibility.
- Deep template library: 1,000+ Gutenberg templates and site kits accelerate development and provide professional starters across verticals.
- Plugin consolidation: Nexter covers layout, forms, and several extension roles, reducing plugin bloat and update surface.
- Developer ergonomics: Modular, well‑structured code simplifies customizations and long‑term maintenance.
- Active roadmap: Regular updates and transparent communication indicate healthy product stewardship.

Weaknesses — Constraints to Address

- Template import & global styles: Template import and global style application must work flawlessly — templates should import cleanly and immediately adopt the site's brand settings (colors, typography, and global blocks) without manual fixes or support tickets. Any imported kit must be production‑ready, with predictable, consistent styling across pages and devices.
- Onboarding friction: New users of Gutenberg face a learning curve; hands‑on, end‑to‑end guidance is needed to reduce setup time.
- SEO coverage: Nexter lacks built‑in SEO tooling such as advanced meta controls, advanced schema generation, and sitemap management — features many site owners expect.
- Limited AI automation: There’s no mature AI‑driven site assembly that asks targeted questions and scaffolds a ready site automatically.
- Template discoverability: Finding niche templates inside the admin can be confusing; catalog search and tagging need refinement.
- Perceived rigidity: Some kits feel prescriptive and may require extra adjustments to fully match brand identity.

High‑Impact Improvements (short dev effort, big return)

1. YouTube onboarding masterclass

- A concise video series that builds a complete professional site from a template: import, global styles, header/footer, menus, SEO basics, and deployment.
- Benefit: Faster time‑to‑value and fewer support tickets.

2. Native, lightweight SEO toolkit

- Essential SEO fields in the post/page UI (title, meta, OG), advanced schema generator, and optional XML sitemap/canonical controls toggleable off.
- Benefit: Reduces reliance on third‑party SEO plugins for common needs.

3. AI‑driven site generator and content assistant

- Onboarding wizard that asks 6–8 focused questions (industry, pages, tone, brand colors, logo, CTA) and builds a starter site with pages, hero sections, forms, and suggested copy. Include editable AI snippets and import from Google Doc/URL.
- Benefit: Converts novices to live sites quickly, increases template usage, and differentiates the product.

Scored Assessment

- Performance & Code Quality: 5/5
- Templates & Blocks: 4.5/5
- Ease of Use / Onboarding: 4/5
- SEO Feature Set: 3.5/5
- AI / Automation: 2.5/5
- Support & Documentation: 4/5

Overall Rating: 4.0 / 5 stars

Final Recommendation
Nexter is an excellent WordPress site‑building suite that deserves serious consideration for anyone prioritizing speed, clean engineering, and a Gutenberg‑first approach. It streamlines many plugin needs and offers a deep template and block ecosystem suitable for agencies and freelancers.

To achieve a full 5‑star rating, Nexter should deliver three strategic items: an authoritative YouTube onboarding series, a native lightweight SEO toolkit, and an AI‑assisted site generator. These additions will remove key adoption barriers, reduce support load, and make Nexter not just technically excellent but universally accessible and faster to adopt.

Concluding endorsement
I give Nexter 4 out of 5 stars today in recognition of its architecture, performance focus, and template/block depth. The fifth star is reserved until the roadmap implements the three critical enhancements above — once delivered, Nexter will be the clear first choice for professional WordPress site builds.

Does everything except AI Pagebuilding

I have decided to buy Nexter for my next project. I am working on rebuilding old site created using Flatsome theme. Although flatsome worked for me for many years, i think its time to move on to new experience for our customers, as i realised even Appsumo changed their product page design.
Nexter looks good tool to clear out wordpress plugins clutter. Its supported with Elementor and hence there wont be learning curve for me. Also, it will eliminate pro license cost of elementor. It already replace 10+ most used plugins with woocommerce. Founders have good track record and product pricing is good, Nowdays many LTDs are going under and main thing i am looking for is founder background.
I hope you integrate AI so that Nexter can truly become my next pagebuilder. I am giving 1 star less only because of not having AI pagebuilding capacity. I will surely revise to 5 star in future.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review.

It really means a lot to us that you chose Nexter after so many years of working with Flatsome. We built Nexter exactly for what you mentioned to clear out the plugin clutter, deliver solid performance, and give you the flexibility to build without being tied down by heavy licensing.

On AI, you’re right, it’s the missing piece today. The good news...
