Q: Currently, we use ClickUp and we're happy with it, but is not great in our experience using it with clients.

So we're also looking at Nifty to see if this will be more useful for us and from a client access use case.

Nifty looks great, however, in testing - unless we've set it up wrong or missed something, it is lacking in areas for client access.

===

Q1. When setting up a restricted permission view for clients, how do we remove all the unwanted nifty settings for our client's dashboard?

When inviting guests/clients, there are all the Nifty features like workspace app center, connecting workspaces, creating new workspaces, Need help message taking them out of the app, and Help button. https://prnt.sc/Mlib2CnHQAxT

There is even the trial button the client can see and when clicked brings up your pricing page! https://prnt.sc/JE57_tTeipDR. This is not ideal for clients and will only confuse them further.

I even set up a custom role called 'Client' with NO permissions, but this does not do anything to remove these platform features.

We're not selling Nifty to our client, nor do we want to, so how do we remove platform features, or is this not available?

===

Q2. How do we remove access for clients to the Workspace > General settings, Workspace addons, and Billing?

This has nothing to do with clients, the projects we do for them, nor should they have access to this. https://prnt.sc/uCcKr02ChlMy

===

Q3. We have set up clients as portfolios and placed projects in these. Is there a way to re-arrange the position of the projects in the sidebar? (Eg, place chat in the screenshot to the bottom). https://prnt.sc/HcZeTDRjeBoK

===

Q4. I have added a custom role, with NO selections added, yet, the client on this role can still do things like see hidden columns, and change custom fields. In my example screenshot https://prnt.sc/ilUyBiocDfuv / invoice sent - invoice paid), the client can still see this column on the list view.

Why would a role with no permissions still have access to restricted views and features?

===

Basically, we like Nifty. So compared to using ClickUp, Nifty has great perks like Unlimited guests and clients, CNAME, and custom embeds, but we would like to know is there a way to clean up the interface for client access to make this even niftier ;)

If we could do this we're sold.

On a side note: Because we do like Nifty, and really want to be sold on it, we have even tried embedding your projects as a shared public link into Ahsuite (another deal here on Appsummo) for a client dashboard. This would be great, but your public links do not have permissions on them, and there is a Nifty Sign up / Log in / Powered by Nifty promo all over it - so kinda average :( Compared to embedding ClickUp tasks in Ahsuite — yes they have their logo on it, but the tasks boards are fully permission-based on external iframe embeds.

Look forward to your reply and any solutions to our queries above.

A: Hi there!

People love using Nifty with their clients as our solution is easy to use and intuitive for technical and non-technical users alike.

A1: My suggestion here would've been to create a custom role to remove the undesired features. Many of the items and options you've mentioned, however, cannot be removed. We have a lot of people who first join Nifty as a Guest only to create a new workspace of their own :)

PS - your clients won't see a trial button on your plan.
----

A2: If you are using the Guest role, they will not be able to see these Settings. As a custom role, you can choose to disable these parameters under the "Workspace Settings" section of the Custom Role. The Billing section will not show in your LTD to Custom Roles and Guests.
----

A3: These currently arrange in Numeric then Alpha order, meaning you could number these to override the alpha order. Custom ordering is on our roadmap.
----

A4: This role can see this Hidden item since it is Hidden from Guests (though your Custom Role does not count as a "Guest" rather is the role that you created). You are able to hide information from Custom Roles.

There is also a Custom Field section of Custom Roles where you can control their permissions around fields.

Hope this helps!

+1 on these and also to add to the selling Nifty to clients part:

On the shareable roadmap, the login / sign-up + Powered by Nifty is always in your face (even when logged in) so there's no way to present to clients without that being in their face. If shareholders did not want to sign up for nifty in the first place, they will not care now.

Hi Sky_Nify, thanks for getting back quickly.

In regards to your answers.

A1. "My suggestion here would've been to create a custom role to remove the undesired features. "

I did mention that I already did this in the second to last paragraph of my question... "I even set up a custom role called 'Client' with NO permissions, but this does not do anything to remove these platform features".

- But thanks, good to know.

A2.

Okay, "...disable these parameters under the "Workspace Settings" section of the Custom Role."

I am not sure what you mean by this, because the test account I am referring to is on a custom role with NO permissions, yet can still see this area of the dashboard. Maybe because I am trialing Nifty of a free trial and not on the LTD. Anyhow, I will look into this. Thanks.

A3. Thanks, that worked. https://prnt.sc/maZh53fnGigs

A4. Yes, you are correct that the field is set for Guest https://prnt.sc/C5qce-dJ-lIM.

However, when I created a new field to test this https://prnt.sc/ogsbMLlNcdK6
there was no option to hide a field from a custom role as the custom role does not show in the options.

You also mention, "There is also a Custom Field section of Custom Roles where you can control their permissions around fields." This is what I used to set up this new field in the row. https://prnt.sc/vLmbdjqvnVNi. (You can also see my test one ' Invoiced').

Alternatively, did you mean Field type when creating a new field? I see (budget, text, dropdown, number, URL, phone, email, location, currency, checkbox, date formula).

Am I missing something, how do we hide fields from custom roles?

FYI, I do understand that there may be restrictions in a free trial, and with an ltd, it may open extra features, so I hope you understand that these questions are not to be difficult, as we're just trying to get as much info before committing - if we do.

Also, just maybe these q's could help the community to understand your platform better ;) I read all comments on an ltd before committing. So thanks for helping.
