Q: Please Reconsider Tier 5 Record Capacity or Add-on Pricing for Production Use?

I understand the 50k–250k limits were introduced to keep the LTD sustainable. However, you’ve confirmed there is no hard architectural ceiling and that existing production customers are successfully running 4–5M+ records. Considering Tier 5’s price and positioning, could you increase its included capacity to at least 1M records per database? This would make it more suitable for serious production use and address concerns raised by several AppSumo customers. If 1M isn’t possible, could you instead make the $29 record add-on +50k records rather than +5k? For me, Tier 5 would only be a practical option if either of these improvements is considered, as the current capacity and add-on pricing are difficult to justify for larger production projects.

A: Thanks for the feedback. The fact that our infrastructure can technically support larger databases doesn’t mean unlimited or multi-million-record capacity can be included in the LTD tier.

The features we offer consume significant resources on our end — storage, RAM, CPU, database I/O, backups, and overall infrastructure capacity. These also create an ongoing recurring cost for us, as we continue paying our cloud infrastructure providers every month for the resources being consumed.

The current limits are still intended to be generous for our early adopters. Our current LTD campaign is also scheduled to end in roughly two weeks, and any future campaign, if offered, may have a completely different structure and limits.

For the current campaign, however, the Tier 5 limits and add-on pricing will remain as announced. If you need additional production capacity, AppSumo users can purchase record add-ons, currently available for a one-time fee.

We believe it’s important to evaluate the current LTD based on what is included today, rather than what our infrastructure can technically support or what we may offer in the future.
