Tier 5 buyer here. The product has potential, but the current record limits are the main blocker for me. At this tier, 500k+ records, or a reasonably priced records add-on, would make it much easier to justify and scale. As it stands, scaling could become expensive quickly, and I’m not yet sure I’ll keep it beyond the 60-day refund period. I understand this is a new offer and not the previous unlimited deal, but new buyers should note that many existing 5-star reviews appear to relate to that older offer rather than the current limits. With the refund window approaching, I hope the team can clarify whether higher limits or add-ons are planned.

I purchased Tier 5 and overall I really like the concept behind NoCodeBackend. There is a lot of value here for prototyping, smaller applications, internal tools, and getting a backend running quickly without having to build everything yourself.

However, after digging into the limits and add-on pricing, I discovered what I consider a pretty major weakness in the lifetime deal: what happens if an application actually becomes successful and outgrows the included record limit?

Tier 5 currently allows 250,000 records per database. That's plenty for many projects, but 250,000 records is not necessarily a lot for a growing production application. Records can accumulate quickly once you have users, transactions, activity, saved items, historical data, notifications, logs, content, relationships between data, etc.

The concerning part is the upgrade path.

According to the current offer, additional database records are sold in increments of only 5,000 records for $29.

Do the math on that and scaling becomes extremely expensive.

Going from 250,000 records to 500,000 would require another 250,000 records, or 50 add-ons. At $29 each, that's $1,450.

Getting a database from 250,000 to 1 million records would require 150 add-ons, or $4,350.

At that point, the "lifetime" value proposition starts to fall apart for a successful application. Instead of feeling like "Congratulations, your app grew, here's an affordable path to scale," it feels more like you've hit a wall.

And that's unfortunate because success is exactly when you don't want to be forced into a database migration.

I also learned that earlier versions of this deal apparently offered much higher or unlimited record allowances. As a newer buyer paying for the current Tier 5, it's disappointing to know earlier purchasers may have received substantially more database capacity under a lifetime deal. I understand that offers change over time, but it makes the current 250K ceiling and especially the 5K add-on increments harder to swallow.

To be clear, Tier 5 does include a large number of separate databases, which is great if you're a developer building many different smaller applications. My criticism isn't the number of databases. It's the 250K ceiling on an individual database and the economics of scaling beyond it.

I think NoCodeBackend could fix my biggest concern simply by providing a reasonable growth path. Larger record packs, much better volume pricing, or substantially higher record limits for the upper tiers would make a huge difference.

As it stands, I see this as a very attractive lifetime backend for prototypes and small-to-medium applications, but I would be hesitant to architect a potentially data-heavy application around it. The deal is sweet while you fit comfortably inside the limits. If your application takes off and your database grows significantly beyond them, the economics can change very quickly, and migrating to another database provider with predictable monthly pricing may become the more practical option.

That's the part I wish had been clearer before purchasing.

by far one of the best deals on appsumo to date. I have used it to replace Supabase and have found a lot of value by being able to implement the database in the various apps I am using.

I’ve been using NoCodeBackend for my projects and have been really impressed with how much the platform has evolved. What initially attracted me was how quickly I could turn a database into a usable API without having to set up and maintain a backend myself.

Over time, they’ve added a lot more than just database APIs — authentication, RLS, webhooks, database cloning and snapshots, Supabase migration, and even MCP support for AI coding tools. The MCP integration in particular is a really interesting addition if you’re using tools like Cursor or Claude Code.

The interface is straightforward, the APIs are generated automatically, and the team seems genuinely responsive to feedback. It feels like a product that is being actively developed rather than something that was launched and left alone.

There are still areas where the platform can improve, but overall I’ve had a very positive experience and think NoCodeBackend is especially compelling for developers who want to get a production backend running quickly without managing infrastructure themselves.

Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re building with AI/no-code tools.

The recent record limit per database for NoCodeBackend is considered insufficient for SaaS applications, making the platform unviable.

Furthermore, these recent critical modifications directly contradict the original terms and conditions of the AppSumo lifetime deal (LTD).

It would have been much more appropriate to grandfather existing AppSumo users under the exact original conditions of their plans, and instead launch a new LTD campaign with the updated terms for new customers only.

I was actually planning to upgrade to support NCBE's growth, but this decision is a major disappointment and leaves me unable to recommend the platform to anyone else.

I am thrilled to completely revise my previous 1-star review and upgrade it to a well-deserved 5 stars.

Following my initial feedback regarding the database record limits, the NoCodeBackend team reached out to clarify that they are fully grandfathering early adopters.

For AppSumo users, the unlimited record limits will remain active. Although the UI for my Tier 3 plan still displays the limit, I verified that no limits are actually applied when creating a new database.

The team was incredibly fast, responsive, and helpful in addressing my concerns and clearing up any doubts immediately. This quick and fair resolution shows that they truly value their community.
