Q: Hi Ben, I'm interested in Onboardflow, but like many others in the comments we have a freemium model so ...
would be great if you could let us know if this feature is ready and if it will be included in the appsumo plans.
Because of the different dynamics of freemium vs trials, this will likely require higher limits or a different mechanic to clean the leads from the CRM. In the spirit of 80/20 thinking, what do you think about having an option to track freemium subscribers like trials, so that they stay hot for 30 days (or 60 days) and then are automatically removed from the CRM (like as if it was a free trial). This I think would solve the issue of limits & tracking large amounts of users. But would be very valuable as if prospects are not closed within 30-60 days chances are they won't close.
In terms of users going over the limits, you could simply implement a mechanism where no new leads are added until there is space left for new leads to be added to the hot list, at which point they would be added in order of recency (last one in, first one out).
I think having this would be a win win for all, opening up Onboardflow to many more saas companies and helping more saas companies integratate onboardflow.
Another question, how are emails handled? Can we specify our own sender (like sendgrid etc)?
Lastly is there a way to enrich lead data in the CRM using clearbit so we can get a better idea of who the prospect is? Or to add custom fields if we do the enrichment ourselves?
Thanks
Chris

May 15, 2024A: Hi Chris,
Thanks for reaching out. We released Freemium support (in beta) a number of months ago and are currently working with our beta tests to iron out bugs and refine the functionality. At this stage, we havent yet made any decisions regarding which plan it will be pegged to (and by extension - whether it will be included for all AppSumo users by default). I think there's a strong chance that we will include it, but we just need to look more closely at the numbers and impact on the underlying system as Freemium is a somewhat different beast compared to tracking standard trials. Sorry that's not a super clear answer - we'll certainly share more info when we have it.
In terms of enriching trials with data from services like Clearbit - this isnt something we currently do but it's something we love the idea of and therefore, something we're considering.
Thanks and i'm here if there are any further questions.
Ben
