A comprehensive tool to track SaaS trials and drive conversions

We all like free stuff. That’s why we keep circling the Costco sample table (just making an informed decision about those pizza bagels).

But if you’re running free trials for your SaaS business, then you want to make sure people don’t just dine and dash.

You need a tool that tracks all the important metrics for conversions while offering a CRM for targeted outreach.

And you need it from an AppSumo MVP — the genius behind Missinglettr, HeySummit, and HelpShelf.

    Hello, OnboardFlow.

    TL;DR

    too long didn't read
Automatically monitor your SaaS trials to easily see how clients are engaging with your product
Create segmented onboarding emails to maximize conversions
Track conversion rates and product usage over time
Best for: SaaS owners looking to get the most out of trial conversions by tracking key data in real-time

    Overview

OnboardFlow extensively monitors SaaS trials and lets you send targeted emails to increase conversions.

OnboardFlow uses a powerful JavaScript tracker with a direct Stripe integration (with more payment providers coming soon!).

This allows for highly-accurate data on your trials while simultaneously reporting what your trial users are doing when using your product.

You can define which key events and metrics you want to track, including important pages visited or activities performed in your product.

OnboardFlow will also recommend metrics later and provide insights with the data collected.

Get an inside look at user activity and engagement!

Analysis is broken down into attractive visualizations on the Dashboard.

You’ll see new trials, active trials, and conversion rates, plus more detailed information on trial activity unique to your product (such as averages for installs, number of tasks created, or number of projects).

You can even see comparisons between existing averages and the average statistics of people who convert to get a solid outline of what a successful trial looks like.

The Dashboard shows you sharp visualizations of important metrics for an informative overview.

The Trials CRM is where you’ll find specific metrics for what individual trial users are doing.

Like your options at Chipotle, metrics are totally customizable based on your product.

Find out if customers have added a credit card, created tasks, been active recently, and other metrics you’ve previously defined.

It’s all separated into three columns: Onboarding, Expired, and Converted. That way, you’ll get a bird’s-eye view on where your trials are in the conversion process.

You can even use the Insights function to track the exact point in the trial process where customers have decided to upgrade.

Track individual customers across the trial process based on customizable metrics!

OnboardFlow also has a built-in emailing function that allows you to transform all of this information and insight data into hyper-targeted messaging to help you engage with your trials when it matters the most.

You can easily create triggers for segmented, automated emails—so that you can do things like notify users when they’ve created a certain number of tasks, or send reminders to users who haven’t yet completed setup.

These highly targeted messages will give your users the extra nudge to convert, and you can even send individual emails to create that personal, hand-delivered touch.

Send automated messages based on unique criteria specific to your product!

Passing out freebies is a great way to get your brand out there (the best pens are the ones you don’t pay for and from a doctor’s office).

But don’t hinder your business because you can’t transform trials into conversions.

OnboardFlow ensures that you’re doing everything possible to keep ‘em coming back for more.

    From the founders

    Hello there Sumolings!

Ben here, Founder at OnboardFlow. We’re really excited to be launching on AppSumo.

OnboardFlow was designed specifically for those of you that run a SaaS, but also for anyone that thinks that they might want to build one in the future or offer reporting to their clients that run their own SaaS.

But first things first, I want to share with you the background behind OnboardFlow and why we ended up building it in the first place.

Marketing and sales aside, growing a SaaS is all about successfully onboarding your trials and (if you do it right) turning them into happy, paying customers.

After all, if we get 100 trial signups, it makes sense that we would want to convert as many of those as we can after the trial period, into paying customers.

I know this, you know this, my teams know this. But time after time, I found that we were essentially growing our companies in the dark (FYI I’m also the founder at Missinglettr, HelpShelf and HeySummit). We knew how many trials we were getting per month and we knew how many had converted, but that was kind of it.

And that felt pretty silly. Embarrassing actually, that we were ‘trusting’ that X% would convert and hoping that they would continue to do so.

We built OnboardFlow to fill this gap in our companies knowledge and today, we’re making it available to the public.

With OnboardFlow you can (amongst other things):

    - Easily monitor what your trials are doing once they’ve signed up

    - Unearth product adoption insights

    - Track retention rates and how conversions are being impacted over time

    - Trigger hyper-targeted emails to your trial users based on their own activity and behaviour.

In short, OnboardFlow helps you make sense of your trials so that you can convert more of them.

I hope you like what we’ve come up with here. We already work with Stripe and Chargebee and will be releasing a Razorpay integration in the next week or so. I’m personally looking forward to chatting with a lot of you and learning about how we can make the product even better.

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

    Ben
