Onestream is a fantastic idea, with a fantastic feature set and potential.
Unfortunately, they lose tacos for their YouTube integration. We run 3 live music streams every week, occasionally they're pre-recorded for logistical reasons. Onestream seemed to meet all my needs at face value, and would mean I don't have to start and end the stream manually in OBS.
technically, it works! Unfortunately, the re-encoding that Onestream does on their end nukes the bitrate of the video, dropping the quality so far the video is unwatchable. Even the audio bitrate was dropped below usable levels.
Support was very responsive, and suggested changing the bitrate of the source file so very little re-encoding was necessary. Unfortunately, despite a number of tests, this didn't resolve the issue.
A couple of other notes:
- One Stream only supports 1920 x 1080 streams to YouTube
- Support was very responsive
- UI is pretty good, fairly straightforward and easy to use.
