Q: After reading the new credit-to-minute conversion that just took place on the AS plans, its a bit concerning ...

(unless I'm reading it incorrectly). I bought T3 and originally had 5000 monthly credits. With the previous system of 20 credits/minute, that would be 250 minutes or over 4.25 hours of video editing. The current system allows 180 minutes or 3 hours total. I understand that for people wanting translations the new system might be more generous, but it appears T3 users that are really only interested in video editing ultimately had their total AI video editing capacity reduced by almost 25%. In essence, these users received a significant account downgrade in capacity.

Is this correct? If so, that seems quite unacceptable to rug users like this. If they bought T3 expecting 4+ hours of monthly capacity, please honor that.

A: Hi!
We actually INCREASED the capacities of all Tiers.
Please allow me to clarify:

In the old Credits system, you would be charged
- 20 credits per minute for editing your video
- 2 credits per minute to generate the music, for EVERY generation
- 10 credits per minute to generate the download link (MP4 and MP3), for EVERY download
- 1 credit per hour per month to host it.

So if you were looking to edit one minute of video, you were really looking at 32 credits per minute.
Plus, if you wanted to go back and change something and then download the new version of the video again, you'd be spending 10 additional credits per minute, etc.
Same if you wanted to generate a new music soundtrack, you'd pay for the new track an additional 2 credits per minute.

So if you wanted to edit a video + add the music and download it, your 5000 credits were worth 156 minutes if you were NOT using translation (50 credits per minute) at all.

What we decided to do was:
- 1 "AI Editing minute" = 1 minute of input video
- unlimited edits
- unlimited music generation
- unlimited downloads of both audio and video
- no charge for the hosting.

So even for users who did NOT use the translation at all, it is already a better deal.

PLUS we decided to not "split" the credits between editing and translation, but we applied the old allowance to BOTH editing AND translation.
So we basically DOUBLED the capacity of the tier, because you could spend the equivalent of all previous credits on editing, and then still spend the equivalent of all previous credits on translation.

Is that a clearer explanation?

Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
We have spent a lot of effort in providing awesome upgrades and updates to Sumo-lings.
And we intend to keep going!

We are releasing 100 additional languages for editing, FOR FREE, to ALL accounts on Tuesday Morning :-)

Thank you for the great explanation. Explained this way, it does seem like the old system was kind of a nickel and dime type setup for users getting billed lots of odd credits. The new system with set minutes and essentially everything else included does seem far better. I appreciated the detailed breakdown.
