Q: Are hosted videos designed to work in Safari on iOS devices?
In Safari on iOS mobile devices, I noticed:
1) Users must click two different play buttons to play video.
2) There is a noticeable half-second pause after each edited clip in the video giving the appearance of jerky playback.
3) When changing mobile browser settings to request desktop website version, the original unedited video plays instead.
These issues were reported over 7 months ago and continue to make hosted videos unusable for iOS users.

I’m seeing the same issues with hosted videos. When will this be addressed to ensure they play properly on iOS devices?
The issue is only for hosted videos on mobile devices, as it turns out the current format of the app was not built with adequate support for mobile devices and this is something we are working on in the redesign. However, you should be able to download and watch the videos on your mobile device with no problem.
