I am quoting from a mail we received from AppSumo's Partner team: "Unfortunately, in this case, we do not set a timer. Your deal will show as unavailable and sold out on September 30, 2024". Hence our two mails over the last days.
Regarding the arrow issue, we will discuss it when we meet next week. Please expect to see an ETA indication in the open request on The Hub.
When bringing in Annotely we debated whether it made sense to stop pre-populating the screenshots with arrows. At the time we felt it might save you having to review potentially dozens of screenshots in a longer instruction, just to add an arrow. Calling on all users, please let us know if you want the prepopulated arrows gone: https://hub.opus.guide/p/ability-to-move-or-remove-arrows-in-each-image-step-uUjxO2.
I don’t know if it makes sense to not include an arrow with each step, as that is not what I’m suggesting. Instead there should be an option to adjust its placement or remove it so that you can replace it with a different type of annotation if you would like. Ideally, it would be better to have the initial arrows automatically added by Annotely so they can be adjusted afterwards if needed.
I agree. If the initial arrow can’t be automatically added via Annotely to allow for its editing, perhaps you can add a toggle option for each generated step/screenshot that will allow us to pick whether to keep the initial arrow or whether to exclude it from the image. This way, we have the choice to replace the arrow with a different type of annotation through Annotely if needed.
This is something we have on the longer term roadmap for Opus●Guide. We will add it to the feature request list in the next days (hub.opus.guide) and would encourage our users to comment on whether they would like to see it included.
It appears any feature requests have to be approved before they are publicly visible on the site. I added a couple requests as well and am waiting for them to be approved.
The Hub is build on a fellow AppSumo product, Productlift. They guys over there have been fantastic in their support of our implementation. Flow charts were part of the processes feature that we recently sunset, they will likely make a reappearance for instructions in the near future. The chrome extension is a great way to record yourself walking through the process you want yo document: it will take screenshots (that you can annotate) and create the instructions for you. Like most browser extensions, it is limited to activity in the browser.
Hi Noah, we had two ways of documenting workflows, processes (this is what we used flowcharts with) and instructions. As we ended up confusing our users with the two options, we decided to sun set processes after consulting with users. However: we will bring flowchart visualisation for instructions to Opus●Guide shortly (before year end).
One of the ways to share your instructions is via a link which could be embedded on a website. Export options include pdf and word document which again could be part of a website or a notion page. Does this answer your question or did you have something else in mind? Please don't hesitate to mail with more details to info@opus.guide.
if you have bought the code but are not going to be the one using Opus●Guide, it might be a good idea to pass the code to the actual creator of instructions. This does mean that they will become the admin or editor and will be able to create teams and folders on your behalf.
If you want an additional editor to support you in creating guides then tier 3 is indeed the best option as it will give you an additional editor as part of your team.
Q: Purchased Tier 1 License but now want to invite team/viewers
Hi,
I bought the Tier 1 plan, but when I try to invite team members, it says, "You've reached the limit of your plan." Could you please let me know what I need to do to be able to invite 10 viewers to my instructions?
Team and the capability to invite viewers is part of tier 2 and 3 plans. If you need 10 viewers we suggest upgrading to tier 3: purchase 2 more codes (or 1 code for tier 2 if 3 viewers are enough) and redeem them via the Settings page of Opus●Guide.
A: Hi Pete, we are working on editor improvements right now, please bear with us for now. You can change the target of the "Finish" button: https://hub.opus.guide/p/redirect-url-jXVfFJ. Alternatively your users can simply close the tab once finished.
Thank you for your request. Opus Guide is currently focussed on browser-based recording only. Adding an explainer video to our documentation hub is a great suggestion, thank you!
Q: Please explain AI and tokens
Hi over looked here and on your site, can you elaborate on
1) what a token gives us?
Does it write the guide? Only parts of it? What does it do? 2) in what manner AI uses the tokens (10 tokens=X amount of words or ?) 3) what by AI models are being used?
"AI integration and tokens" seems like a awesome feature, I'd just like to understand it better. Thanks!!
Thank you for your questions. Our integration with GPT 4o gives you the option to get a fully formatted instruction based on the question you asked. Here is the description of how in our documentation hub: https://hub.opus.guide/p/creating-instructions-with-ai-RCMq8Y. For Opus●Guide purposes, one AI token equals one AI-generated instruction. We'd encourage you to go as broad or specific as you want to in your queries - from standard "how to open an acount with XYZ bank" to "How to onboard a customer care agent" we have seen many useful instructions generated by AI.
HiJayYou, so the AI isn't doing any magic on the actual guide the plugin is creating , or to the steps Opus created. The AI is there to flesh out the more generic aspects we might put into the guide ( "before we start, install chrome"...the AI token would craft this part if we wanted). If so, got it, that makes sense.
Q: If we purchase this LTD at tier 3 would we also get the newer versions and updated features moving forward?
Yes, a LTD deals will get you access to the latest version. While a lot of new features are made available to all users (like "tags" last Friday), there might be some new functionality reserved for higher tiers - tier 3 is indeed your best bet for access to all new features.
Q: In tier 2 - it is stated that one can "Create 40 instructions per month" - what happens if I do not create ...
any instruction this month, will have 80 instructions I can create next month? Also, seperate question - As long as we stay within the monthly instruction limits, we have all these instructions available for further use - correct (in three months we would have a total of 120 instructions - 40+40+40=120 instructions)?
Unused instructions and AI tokens do not roll over, they expire at the end of the month. There is no limit to the number of created instructions you can manage and edit, though. Like you said, if you create the maximum number of instructions per month, you will have a library of 120 instructions after 3 months.
A: Perhaps the most respectful answer is the British proverb "horses for courses" or a comparison between a Mini and a station wagon. While the Mini will get a student and their laptop bag to college and make for easy parking, the station wagon is probably better suited for a family trip to the lake with luggage and the dogs. We recommend to see for yourself with our free trial at https://app.opus.guide/#register.
Guidde are focused on video documentations whereas we believe that a text-based documentation is easier to update once your SOPs change and also easier to navigate for users. Why don't you try Opus Guide and see for yourself: https://app.opus.guide/#register?
Is it safe to assume that you are talking about the branching similiar to processes, with a question or decision point? We are working on bringing this feature to instructions over the Summer. If I misunderstood your question, thank you in advance for clarifying. Kind regards, Jan
This is currently not a feature but we have added it to the list of requests to be reviewed. As previously mentioned we will communicate more around new features and ways to request features shortly.
Q: Are we still unable to merge newly recorded steps to a previous guide?
JayYou
Sep 30, 2024A: Hi Pete, seeing how we are leaving Appsumo it is probably best to address feature requests on the Hub: https://hub.opus.guide. Thanks, Jan
Share Opus●Guide
OK. Since it sounds like it's not a current feature, I will add this as a feature request.
Q: I received an email indicating that this LTD will end in 24 hours.
However, the status of this listing appears to be the same, and there is no indication that it is ending. When does this LTD end?
Also, what is the status regarding the issue with not being able to remove/replace the original arrow on each step and how will it be addressed?

After closing the pop-up, it then takes me back to the Recent Instructions page.

Sep 25, 2024A: Hi Pete,
I see this is now raised as a bug on hub.opus.guide. Will get back to you shortly, thank you for raising the issue.

This is fixed now as of Friday, Sep 27. Thanks for raising the issue, Pete.
Q: How do we remove the main arrows in each image or move them?
Annotely does not allow you to do this with the arrows that are already there as part of the original instructions.

Yes, please include a white-label feature!
I couldn't find the feature request so I created one for the White Label Feature.
It appears any feature requests have to be approved before they are publicly visible on the site. I added a couple requests as well and am waiting for them to be approved.
Now reviewed and released, Pete.
Q: Opus Guide own guide?
Is this https://hub.opus.guide/ created and hosted using Opus? I don't see any flow chart guide and examples of flow chart?
What can the chrome extension do and cannot do?
Can we include our domain in the URL?
