Promising but needs some key improvements

Opus Guide is simple to use and shows a lot of potential for creating SOPs. I appreciate having the ability to annonate further with the recent addition of Annotely which provides a rich set of options. I also love that I am able to share this as an interactive guide, a PDF, and a Word Doc.

However, one critical aspect that requires serious attention is the inability to edit the original arrows in each step. This means that if you want to change the arrow design or size, be able to move, or even delete it, you cannot do any of this since it is permanently fixed in each screenshot. For example, I often need to replace the arrow with an oval or rectangular highlight since it often blocks important text that the end user should see. While Annotely allows you to add new annotations and adjust them separately in the screenshot, it cannot adjust or remove the original arrows which is a huge limitation.

While the founder has indicated that he may consider leaving each recorded screenshot without an arrow as a workaround and then require us to add it in manually using Annotely, this is not a good alternative as it forces us to retrace each step afterward in order to locate where to place each annotation on our own. This can be a big hassle if you have a large number of steps in each SOP. The best way to address this, as another user mentioned, is to add a toggle option for each generated step/screenshot that will allow us to either keep the original arrow or exclude it. This way, if we decide to exclude the arrow, we can easily replace it with a different type of annotation through Annotely.

Additionally, the tool still does not allow you to merge newly recorded steps with a previous guide. While you can manually add new steps to a guide, the lack of merging means you have to manually record each screenshot and save it as a separate file. You then have to upload each screenshot file to a new step in the guide before manually adding the arrows on each step as well. Unfortunately, you cannot use the extension for any guide updates since it won't allow you to merge any newly recorded steps with a previous guide. This manual process can be quite tedious if you have a large number of new steps to add. The alternative to all this is to essentially rerecord the entire guide from beginning to end which still feels quite unnecessary for a dedicated tool like this. Therefore, being able to merge newly recorded steps with a previous guide is an essential feature that is needed for updating SOPs.

Once these necessary improvements are made, I am happy to revise my review and give this a full 5 tacos.
