Q: 4 Tech questions

Does it work in Linux?
I understand that the Desktop utilizes OrcaSheet to generate the SQL query based on a prompt. After that, the app on the Desktop/Client connects to the database and retrieves the data without going through a third party. Is that correct?
Can I inspect, edit (before firing), and save the SQL query?
Database schemas commonly contain unmeaningful names, sometimes to shorten...

A: Hello, thanks for the detailed questions. Here are our answers in order:

Linux: Yes. OrcaSheets is a desktop app and runs on Linux.

Query flow and third parties: You've got the part that matters most right. When a query runs, the app connects to your database directly and the data it returns stays on your machine. That data never passes through OrcaSheets or any third party. The one step that...

A: Thanks for asking. Yes, you can absolutely use OrcaSheets with Excel files on your computer.

OrcaSheets is desktop-first and local-first, so you can load Excel files directly from your machine. If your Excel file has multiple tabs, OrcaSheets can treat each tab as a separate sheet. Similarly, when you load multiple Excel files, each file/sheet can be available for analysis inside...

Unfortunately, it's still not stable and needs some work. We don't want to hamper user experience unless we are satisfied ourselves with the performance, and hence you will have to wait for sometime to access local models. Do keep...

Q: AI queries usage

To calculate the adequate tier for how many AI queries will be used, i.e., tier 2, 750 means 750 data analyses; how are AI queries used to create a dashboard, and can dashboards include filters? Are they reusable, or are they intended for fixed data? thanks for your help.

A: Thanks for asking, happy to clarify how AI query usage works.

In the AppSumo tiers, 750 AI queries means 750 AI questions or interactions. When you ask OrcaSheets a natural-language question about your data, that counts as one AI query.

Creating dashboards does not consume AI queries by itself. You can build dashboards, charts, pivots, and visualisations without using any AI credits. The only...
