Interesting, but (not) almost there…
I don’t like the way Google Data Studio displays the data so I was happy when this deal is here. It would be nice to have a goodlooking dashboard/report tool to impress my customers.
Currently I'm checking my dashboard in Google Data Studio and when I see something interesting I drill down using my custom reports in Google Analytics. To test Oviond I tried to recreate my Google Analytics reports in Oviond. I found that Oviond looks promising as a dashboard/reporting tools but that I’m missing some elements to really use it (now).
The essential missing elements:
- In Oviond you can only select one dimension. In Google Analytics you can chose for example page title and page url, source and referral path and keyword and landing path. You really should be able to select more than one Google Analytics Dimension.
- Custom order data: handy if you have Hours of day or days of week report
- Last year: really annoying. If you chose it you get last calender year (jan-dec). But in my opinion this should be a rolling last year ("364 days before today"). If for example you would look into ppc of last month, you would like to know if there is a seasonal influence. A rolling last year dashboard would give you that insight in a glance. Now it isn’t possible.
Some things missing which would be nice to have:
- Filter/sort functionality in Widgets: so that you can show the 10 best performing pages for example
- Duplicate widget (so you can change only a setting)
- Calculated statistics like entrypoint page/page.
- Integration with Mangools, Accuranker, Stackby, Integromat, Zapier
Support is responsive but not 24h a day. But that is no problem for me. Some periods of the day it is slow but that is probably the Appsumo effect. Regarding functionality I’m missing some essential elements so I won’t be using Oviond as my dashboard/reporting tool. They have a roadmap so hopefully they get the essentials finished.

We are including additional dimensions, this will be available with our Q3 push on the GA Integration update:)
