Q: Question on Tier Pricing Structure
Hi,
Quick question on the AppSumo tiers as I’m considering buying.
If I understand correctly, stacking Tier 1 twice would give:
• 8,000 credits (same as Tier 2)
• 6 projects (more than Tier 2’s 5)
• for $118 total (less than Tier 2 at $159)
So from a buyer perspective, it seems like buying two Tier 1 codes gives more value than Tier 2 for a lower price.
Am I missing any additional benefits in Tier 2 that aren’t shown in the table, or is this just how the tiers are structured?
Thanks,
Ed

Mar 24, 2026A: From a numbers perspective, stacking two Tier 1 codes can give you more credits and projects for a lower total cost than a single Tier 2. That's a fair observation.
The main thing to keep in mind is that these are lifetime deals — the value is in the long-term, ongoing refresh of credits month after month. While stacking Tier 1 codes may make sense on paper, you'd also be managing two separate accounts, which can be less convenient than having everything consolidated in one Tier 2 account.
If you're comfortable juggling multiple accounts and the math works better for you, that's a valid approach. But if you prefer simplicity and having all your credits and projects in one place, a single higher tier might still be the better fit.
they have been struggling with their offer structures since the very beginning. tier 2..structure should at least be 10,000 credits, tier 3.. 18,000 credits, and 8 or 12 projects.. this gives incentives to want to upgrade to a higher tier...otherwise its like you said, buy two tier 1, and get the same value.
It seems reasonable what you’re saying, and it might work; you just need to have 2 separate accounts, then you have each one with 4,000 credits. The idea is good, so if I want Tier 3, I buy 4 Tier 1 to get 16,000 credits, and it still turns out cheaper while having 12 projects. The idea is solid.
please andrey do a revision with credit allocations, right now i have tier 2, thinking of upgrading to tier 3, but it seems like getting multiple tier 1 is better, i think this might be an oversight. because currently there is no team feature, multiple tier 1 can allow one to outsource other accounts to team members. but going for a single tier 2 or 3 is lower on credits, and cannot invite team.
AppSumo is designed for individual users, not corporate or team management. If you're looking to invite team members, our Teams plan (outside AppSumo) is the right fit.
Our credit structure across tiers has been carefully calculated based on the lifetime deal model. A single higher-tier account keeps everything in one place, with simpler workflows and no juggling between logins.
we all have been saying it is an oversight but they won't listen lol i did the same with stacking multiple accounts because the higher tiers aren't allocated right.
Hi Andrew, what made you think that AppSumo is for individuals? and no teams... or are you referring your deal here is just for individuals?
Yes, our AppSumo deals are generally designed for individuals
If you're looking to collaborate with a team, share workflows, or manage multiple seats, we have dedicated Teams and Enterprise plans available outside of AppSumo. Those are designed specifically for groups, agencies, and organizations, with centralized billing, shared credits, and team management features.
