Q: ***REPOSTING QUESTION*** Hello!

šŸ‘‹ I too am looking to purchase a tier with sub-accounts but I am concerned that the owner (me) would be able to see the chats of my clients (sub-account holders).

šŸ’„It is important for privacy concerns that we (the owner) donā€™t have access to the chats of the sub-accounts (our clients), and having the ability to set limits for MAU for each sub-account would be helpful.

It seems that when you designed the sub-account feature, you assumed the sub-account holders will be in the *same* company as the owner, with the owner being the overall boss. That is only one scenario.

šŸ‘‰ The more-common ā€˜otherā€™ scenario is an Agency (like many SumoLings here are) purchasing a tier with sub-accounts to provide the service to a client who is in a completely different business. They (our clients) wouldnā€™t want us (owner) to see their business chats. That raises so many privacy issues. (Itā€™s like having an Agency read your text messages!)

So can you rectify this? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

A: Hi Shade,

Thank you for your inquiries and suggestions.

The initial design of PinChat was created to assist businesses in completing pre-sale tasks. Each PinChat Link that is created is actually designed to meet the specific needs of different businesses or organizations (such as branches). After the main account is set up, sub-accounts are created and then assigned to manage different PinChat Links. This is the logic behind the product design.

We understand that in an agency scenario, you may want the main account not to see the messages of sub-accounts and to set different MAU (Monthly Active Users) limits for different Chat Links. However, this requirement would involve significant changes to the product design, so we are still evaluating it.

Currently, we have received around 4 to 5 similar requests, and we will continue to assess them.

Thank you for your inquiry! :)

Many business do display a subtle notice that if using their services, these services are monitored for fair use/abuse detection purposes. You can pop into your company network computer and you will typically note that your activities are monitored for any misuse of resource being used. In other words, you don't need to be shouting at the top of the rooftops that you can or able to see their communications beyond the client knowing that he services are monitored for abuse purposes.
