Yes, it’s an AI-generated, templated output, but don’t let that fool you. The real value is in the unique segmentation of files and layouts it produces. Like it or not, it gets you thinking about your final pitch deck’s style in fresh ways. We loved that part. The system even pulled together files we hadn’t considered making before.
For us, one of the biggest wins was how it got us about 70% of the way to a polished business plan and pitch deck. More importantly, it pushed us in the right direction to apply to various startup accelerators. The pre-drafted questions and answers for applications alone were worth the cost.
A few things to know before you start:
Plan for a full hour. Once you start answering the initial questions, there doesn’t seem to be a “pause and resume” feature. We tried coming back later, but it reset us to the beginning. So block off enough time to finish in one sitting.
Broken investor links. At the end of the process, the automated links to investor contacts and some other resources didn’t work (they led to dead pages: https://pitchbob.io/services/investor-outreach). It would be great to see these fixed in the future.
Startup article feature may be gone. The option to have your startup featured as an article on their site seems to have been discontinued since April, so don’t count on that perk.
Even with these small hiccups, it’s still a fantastic deal. We’re more than happy with what we got, and if the investor contact feature comes back, that would make it even better.
I expected it to take my words and add a bit of refinement to them, you know, like most chatbots. It did not. I wish I had expressed myself differently. I probably won't use what I have. Some artifacts are useful, but their brand and "PitchBob's recommendation" are all over them. I would like the artifacts to be more about my brand and less about PitchBob.
Perks are down, and emailing support wasn't helpful. They just told me it was unavailable. I don't know if that's for now, forever, or what, but I didn't like it.
Well as we all know, most companies selling here on AppSumo are early stage companies with bugs that need ironing out, this product is no exception.
What I love is it gave someone like me most of the tools I needed to see my product clearer.
Now I have a sense of direction, and clear next steps. Precisely what I was looking for. I knew I needed to get my Lean Canvases, Business Plan, Pitch Deck, etc done. And compile a list of Accelerators and Grants to apply to. And a list of Investors, etc., but all I managed to do on my own for the past 6 months was my Pitch Deck.
After spending less than $40 for PitchBob and an afternoon answering the 35 questions… I now have all that and so much more. - They gave me a list of Visas to apply for. - They wrote an article about my product and promised to send it to 20,000 people. Overall I think what I got for my $40 is more than a steal.
Thanks for creating such a well needed product. I am sure you will work out all the bugs in a few years
Privacy Violated: They Publish Your Deck on Internet Without Permssion
Yeah, highly don't recommend this. So many problems: - This is a lead gen tool for their business - After I finished, they PUBLISHED my pitch deck responses on the internet. I can't remember if they even asked for permission, but everytime it asked to share it with their "network of investors" i said no... so maybe they did anyway. I feel like my privacy has been violated. - All the reources you get are just PDFs found openly on the internet into a Google Drive - I was prompted what Langage to use. I gave it English (US) but it still writes stuff in British English (e.g. optimisation vs. optimization) - The deck you receive is just Google Sheets tempates with merge fields with your answers, so a lot of the stuff is repetitive from my own answers
I can go on... I recommend you to pass and use ChatGPT. I just used ChatGPT and I got something a lot better. Now i have a meeting with an investor.
