Customers like PodOps for its user-friendly interface, excellent customer support, and unique white-label podcasting feature. However, a few users have encountered issues with additional costs for custom domains and some limitations. Despite the minor drawbacks, PodOps stands out as a valuable podcast hosting platform, making it a solid buy for anyone looking to start or grow their podcast.

Bait & switch on number of podcasts, no access to improvements
PodOps has pulled a bait and switch. Their deal terms don't specify how many podcasts are included, as the limit is upload hours per month. Naturally people asked for clarity before purchasing, and were assured several times that it included unlimited podcasts.
That's why I purchased. I host the private podcasts for my online courses via PodOps, and as such, there are very few episodes (between 1-11 on all currently live) but multiple podcasts (9 so far). I give purchasers the RSS link to subscribe on their favorite podcast app, and also embed a podcast player with my course platform so they can listen that way.
When I went to create my 10th podcast for the audio version of my newest workshop, I was told that they now limit podcasts to 5. I received no notice of this (they said they sent an email more than a year ago, the mention is not there in any email in 2024, and it is a new policy as I created my 9th podcast without issues in June 2025).
After I brought this up to both PodOps and AppSumo, they both maintained that this drastic reduction was fine because it wasn't in the official deal terms. First, why was this not included? Number of podcasts for a podcast host deal is vital! Second, why was the number reduced so much? Unlimited to 5 is ridiculous.
In addition to this bad faith change made with no recourse or discussion or compromise, PodOps has treated purchasers poorly. Almost every single improvement made to their platform has been locked away from their AppSumo buyers, as they've set them up as separate products. Video podcasts are not available to us. Nor is their Studio for editing. Nor their AI features. Nor their Connect feature.
Up until this change, their service was exactly as barebones as it was when first purchased (including poor security on RSS feeds with only 4-digit numbers to designate each podcast). Now they've gone and taken away my ability to add any future podcasts, without warning or recourse.
Stay far away from this company.

If they ever return to AppSumo, I'd recommend skipping this one...
I spent a long time debating this purchase and ended up buying 3 tiers, based on the upload hours per month. I knew I wasn't going to be using all of them for a while, but I wanted to have plenty of buffer down the road.
I planned to have one ongoing feed for a private membership, but I would only be recording 30 minutes to an hour per month tops. I wanted to have the extra minutes per month to upload some of my workshops and short courses. So, it would be audios of approximately 30-min to 1.5 hr. I thought I was purchasing enough hours, that I could feel comfortable adding multiple workshops throughout the "lifetime" deal.
Recently, I went to add a new stream/podcast (another workshop) and there was a pop up about there being a 5 podcast limit. I print every sales page from all my AppSumo purchases, just so I have the terms and features handy. I went through the original sales info and there was no mention of a limit on how many separate feeds we could have; only on how many minutes/hours per month could be uploaded. I went to my purchase history in AppSumo and clicked over here. Again, no mention of this, even though the offer hasn't been live in sometime. (I just wanted to double-check if maybe the last time it was offered the deal changed.)
Anyways, I had a great experience using them up until that moment. At one point, they had an issue that removed everyone's podcasts and, at that point, I liked the product enough that I didn't hold that whole tech wobble against them. I really assumed, there wouldn't be a problem making this right since I'd never come close to exceeding my monthly limits and this wasn't a restriction at the time I purchased.
I was so wrong. First, I was told how this limit was imposed to keep people from abusing the number of podcasts. (By the way, it's worth mentioning I've never come close to the monthly limits. Most months I don't even touch the 15 hours I purchased. This was mainly for my peace of mind to insure there never was an issue down the road.) I pointed out that I primarily wanted this for courses/workshop recordings, which would mean more more individual streams but lower recording durations.
This means, regardless of the monthly upload limits, I won't really be able to use my account, since I've hit the stream limit with content that more or less doesn't change (pre-recorded single workshops). I never needed all those extra hours I purchased via additional tiers. I could have easily made due on a single tier, but I trusted that "upload hours per month" meant I could use all of those hours, as the stream limitation was not conveyed.
It was made quite clear they didn't care if this felt like a bait and switch. They acknowledged this wasn't part of what was conveyed in the deal, but it was what they were standing by. The customer service person was also incredibly passive aggressive in their responses. As a former virtual call center customer service manager, I'm never rude to people I speak to online; yet, when I explained that I was incredibly disappointed they had left out something that deeply impacts the terms of an LTD, I was told not to worry, they'd be sure to pass my sentiments on AppSumo.
Between the careless bait and switch, the lack of integrity in standing by what was initially offered & the poor customer service, I wouldn't touch this one if they're ever back on AppSumo.

Almost Useful
When I purchased, there was the promise of Video podcast features being added soon. The video podcast features were added, but are not available with appsumo plan. Additionally, you cannot use a custom domain unless you pay for the monthly subscription, defeating the purpose of the LTD. To me, podops is unusable because of these two missing features.
I think their upgraded SaaS product might be competitively priced with podbean and others.
The issue I have is that if I am upgrading from the LTD, I should get the discount off of the Video plan. Example, if audio only is $9/mo, I want $9 off the upgraded plan instead of paying full price.

Feb 8, 2025Thank you for your comments. As you can see in our listing, all user feedback, and promotion - Video was never offered or included in the LTD. It was also not available in the platform while the LTD was running. Similar for custom domains like, these were added later. The LTD was always an audio only option of our original features that ended in February of 2024. The current plans, which you...
