Breaking Trust with Lifetime Supporters Puts Project.co’s Future at Risk

The decision to exclude lifetime deal holders from accessing V3 is a serious breach of trust that undermines the very foundation of your early success. Lifetime deals are more than transactions—they represent a commitment to ongoing value and inclusion. Denying access to V3 breaks this promise and risks alienating the loyal users who helped build your reputation.

All future plan updates should honor the original commitments made to lifetime supporters. Failing to do so not only damages goodwill but also threatens long-term growth by turning your strongest advocates into critics.

This approach shows a misunderstanding of sustainable SaaS growth. Short-term gains from usage fees cannot compensate for lost trust and negative community backlash. Reinstating V3 access for lifetime deal holders is essential to preserving your user base and brand integrity.

We strongly encourage you to carefully reconsider this decision. Addressing these concerns thoughtfully will help safeguard Project.co’s future and set a positive example for how companies can honor and value their earliest supporters.

Thanks for your feedback number1

I want to make it clear that we are not excluding LTD users from V3.

We released Project.co V3 as a new tool. It has a different code base and a different way of working. It has many of the same features as V2 but also many different features. We don't expect V2 users to move over to V3 in many cases as they are used to the features of V2.

As such we are...

Honteux

What a Joke of a Company and Unethical Garbage

As you know, Sumolings supports company launches and buys deals even if the company does not use them, but may plan to later.

These guys just screwed over anyone that bought a lifetime deal not allowing them to go to version 3.

Thanks for your feedback Judd_WoocommercePRO

I'm sorry you feel this way. The tool you bought is still 100% available to you and will be into the future. We are not changing that. So you still have full access to V2 and you can use it now or at any time into the future.

We released V3 as a different tool. It has many of the same features but also many different features so we aren't moving...

Stay Far Away From This One

Should this ever come back to AppSumo, don't even consider supporting this app. Let them suck-up to other investors.

After using this app for my projects for over a year, this company decided not to abide by their promise of "All future Agency Plan updates". Now that they have updated the platform, all Sumolings that financially supported this project are not allowed to use their license for the new version, but instead are offered to pay for an annual license.

The most despicable and unethical part of this is that they waited till after the one-year agreement with AppSumo had run out before pulling the rug out from all the Sumolings that financially supported this project, preventing these same Sumolings from requesting a refund for their unscrupulous behaviour.

Thanks for your feedback kwsim

I totally appreciate your position here. I do want to make it clear though that you still have access to the same tool you bought now and into the future as we have committed to keeping Project.co V2 running now and into the future. So you don't lose access in any way, you will continue to get the same product you bought into the future.

We built V3 as a new tool...

Good software, deeply flawed ethics.

There's no denying that Project.co offers a clean, intuitive, and genuinely useful project management tool. The interface is well thought out, and it's clear that the team put real effort into building something polished and practical. That's why I supported them through AppSumo lifetime deals.

But now, with the launch of V3, I feel completely let down. Project.co has essentially pulled the rug out from under its early adopters. After leveraging LTD funding to build out the product's next phase, they're locking those very supporters out — unless we start paying again. The justification? A new pricing model that makes it "unsustainable" to support us. That would be more understandable if we hadn't already paid to help get them where they are now.

This is not just disappointing — it's unethical. When you accept lifetime payments, you're making a long-term promise. That promise should mean something. Instead, this feels like a bait-and-switch: use LTD funding for development, then ask those same users to foot a second bill when it's convenient for the business.

I genuinely hope others think twice before trusting a company that seems willing to abandon its earliest believers in pursuit of a new monetization strategy. The software may be solid, but the foundation of trust it was built on is starting to crack.

Thank you for your kind words about Project.co jenb1972

With the release of V3 we really haven't pulled the rug out from LTD purchasers. We have committed to keeping V2 running alongside V3 into the future so LTD purchasers and also current free and paid users of V2 can keep using it into the future. V3 is a different tool that has a different way of working so it's not going to be right for...
