Excellent Tool - AI Credit Consumption is a Little High

I have really started to appreciate how Puzzle works.. very clever.

This is a tool I will use regularly

My only issue has been that I purchased 2000 shiny new credits to add to the 200 given to LTDs.

I tried to add a CSV file with approx 250 apps.. using Nova.. their AI.. 1,200 credits and absolutely nothing to show for it later.. I am now certain I can not use their AI for absolutely anything . .more expensive than Fable 5.

Their own chatbot tells me this is about right.. but I can see from the response this may change.. I have changed my review to the 5 tacos (that it absolutely would have been anyway if not for the AI issue..) .. but as I can see from the comment below .. this is being looked into, the change is justified.

Hey Christian, thanks for the honest feedback. Happy to refund the cost of the AI credits since nothing came out the other end. 👍 Reach out to [email protected] and I'll have my team refund those 2,000 credits.

A bit of context on what happened: uploading a CSV with 250 apps is a surprisingly heavy request once it hits Puzzle's MCP and Anthropic's API. CSV uploads are some of the most expensive requests we can send, and that part is out of our hands.

What we can control is which model processes the request. Right now we run Opus 4.7 for everything, which is the most expensive option available. We know we need to let users (or the system automatically) match the model to the complexity of the request, and that's on the near-term roadmap.

Alongside that, we're adjusting AI credit pack pricing with some improvements shipping next week. Your credits will go a lot further.

For now, two things worth knowing: you can connect Puzzle to Claude over our MCP and run requests there without spending any AI credits, and BYOK (bring your own key) is landing very soon.

One more thing, and no pressure either way: it sounds like the credits issue drove the 3-taco rating more than the product itself. If the refund and the fixes coming next week change how you feel, I'd be grateful if you'd consider revisiting the rating! Either way, the feedback is super helpful.
