Q: Hi, Does this work with the desktop versions of AI and PS?

Where are my design assets stored? Does it move them from my local or cloud source?

Does this integrate with any DAMs?

What is stored in the 20gb? Is that for metadata, file overhead, etc., not my actual files?

I am working with approximately 20tb of digital assets. Do those stay in my file system/DAM?

Can this provide an asset used/resource listing? Obviously, I need to track where every image for every project comes from. It would be helpful to have the software do that.

Looking forward to your response! Thanks!

A: Hello 👋

Thank you for your questions!

Yes, Quaaant works exclusively with the desktop versions of Adobe Illustrator (AI) and Adobe Photoshop (PS).

When you create design assets in AI or PS, Quaaant allows for easy sharing and synchronization with other tools. Each object or layer from your AI or PS files can be turned into an individual asset. This means that from a single AI or PS project, you can create an unlimited number of assets. These assets are versioned for easy management.

As for your question about storage, your design assets are stored on our cloud. The AI and PS projects are the only sources for creating assets in this case.

At present, we don't integrate with other Digital Asset Management systems (DAMs). Our platform focuses on seamless integration with AI and PS, offering a unique blend of asset creation, management, and synchronization.

The 20GB storage pertains to your project files, including the assets you create and their versions. It does not account for metadata or file overhead.

I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to ask if you have any more. I'm here to help!

Hi Marko,

Thank you for your very thoughtful response.

The 20gb storage seems minimal for storing assets generated by AI and PS. What is the cost/process to upgrade once it runs out?

Really excited about your product!

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your excitement and interest in our product, it means the world to us!

We understand your concerns about storage, particularly when dealing with AI and Photoshop generated assets. To efficiently manage this, we leverage Git as our project and asset storage technology. Git allows us to store multiple versions of the same project in a highly optimized way, so the 20GB limit can be surprisingly spacious when utilized effectively.

However, we absolutely understand that depending on your needs, this might still be a limitation. That's why we're actively considering an upgrade path for more storage. Once this upgrade path is in place, we'll provide detailed information on how to proceed with the process and the associated costs.

Thank you once again for your interest and support!

Yes, I am also wonder many of the same things, with regards to storage. Could there be a possibility to connect a third party cloud storage, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, AWS S3 Bucket, Wasabi or similar or offer an up sale for additional storage.

We're planning to integrate third-party cloud storage providers as sources for managing design assets (importing, synching, searching, sharing). While we're still working out the details, our goal is to offer a seamless and flexible storage solution that caters to the diverse needs of our users. Thanks for your suggestion and stay tuned for updates!
