Qwil Messenger

Product details

Q: I think this i a really appealing deal.

Since I am rarely interacting with some clients, 90 days of message history seems to low for me. I'm a one man show, not in the need for 9 other peeps but not having access to message older than 90 days is kind of tough.

Can you comment on gdpr since you seem to reside in GB? I dont think theres a DPA in place yet between GB and Germany, in my case.

A: Hello,

Thanks for your feedback. You can easily download the transcript of any conversations and file away if this is rare. We designed the deal to offer value but as this is a lifetime deal for a communication platform do need to put limits. You can always contact us if your requirements change as we may offer a monthly subscription to top up this deal.

I’m GDPR the best place is to read our security paper but we offer 2 hosting location which are Ireland (Europe) and North America. Other data centres are for enterprise clients but we may add more. Then to meet your requirements ever user accepts the terms of conditions of qwil but also of your company (so you have their consent) and finally the data is protected and is yours. So yes, GDPR is important and being in Germany, this will tick the necessary boxes.

Hope this helps

Laurent

One more thing - in Germany we have to be able to keep all records that lead to sales, for 10 years as a business. Chats are included in this law. Just that you know where Im coming from regarding the 90 days.

Hello. You can download the transcript of the conversations and sales over the period in the same way as you may keep a record of email or paper trail. If you were to use a online mail provider, you would have the same issue. It is your responsibility to keep the data as services will only keep the data while you use them.

So even if we had unlimited data history as per our online plan with monthly subscription, if you stopped our service, we wouldn’t keep it for 10 years as you would need to download it.

So I dont see it as an issue here to meet that requirement.

Happy to discuss more.

Best. Laurent.

The difference is, that imap is an open standard which is directly routed towards an gdpr conform archiving solution. I don't think there will be a solution with immutability features for your product, but I can be wrong.

This is also the less interesting part, since im looking for a solution that can replace current messengers. I constantly have to go back to messages clients have sent over a year ago to reference in current projects. Therefore, an ltd upgrade path to unlimited retention would be appealing.

Hi again,

To answer your question.

On archiving - APIs are available to connect to archiving solutions but these will be used by the larger enterprise customers. We meet the data requirements for GDPR why you would need to extract it to go elsewhere. If you go through our MSA or even our whitepaper we provide more on the use of the data. We are used by some of the largest financial institutions and data privacy and security is number 1 on their list.

I'm not sure what messengers you are using but I suspect GDPR is not their priority (and be used for social but not professional). Any upgrade will require a monthly subscription and be offered at a "top" up to the AppSumo offer. You can contact us when that requirement would occur.

Hope this helps,

Laurent

I'm not wanting to archive. I'm saying every potentially customer of you residing in Germany has to. Thanks for the feedback, but I have to pass this time.

Hello

Appreciate your time looking. Understand Qwil may not be for you this time but I would still want to highlight that whatever online platform you use, firms will need to archive so that is nothing different for Qwil. You may upgrade for unlimited data history as previously offered in a message but that will still only be as long as the subscription lasts. So that requirement persists even if you use Dropbox for example - May store everything until you stop paying. That is also why the transcripts can be downloaded with qwil.

Hope this helps. Laurent.
