We lost our money, have no access to the site or service, AppSumo doesn’t seem to care (terms, legal BS), and the website is still online, ready to collect money from new victims. I have an email thread from over two years ago (June 27, 2023) with Felix Rose-Collins. I asked about my access restriction, and he replied, “Expect a fix soon,” on July 10, 2023, after back-and-forth emails. He asked for screenshots, which I provided, and he said he’d look into it. I continued to get email promotions from the site until I unsubscribed.
I understand there’s a risk in AppSumo purchases, and they can’t control their advertisers, but this isn’t a simple case of a company going out of business or an app not working properly. It appears that AppSumo has allowed a scammer to cheat its customers without explanation or even acknowledgment that it happened.
