Let's get this out of the way. reap is a good product, and it has the potential to be a great alternative to services like OpusClip. However, in my short time using it (less than a month) I feel the devs are focusing their energy on "let's keep the wows and AI features coming" to appease the masses, versus focusing on smaller, quality-of-life improvements that would go a long way toward providing a stable and enjoyable user experience.

What follows is my experience and mine alone, unless you too feel this way and just haven't gotten around to voicing it. Nor is this meant to attack the devs or any particular community. My review is based on my needs and whether the product can meet them.

So why only a 3-star review? Easy:

-1 star: Lack of Facebook posting support. You're telling me that more people asked to connect to LinkedIn versus Facebook, when there are about 3 billion people on FB as opposed to 700 million on LinkedIn? I strongly disagree with that. [Removed because Modbot didn't like my opinions of the LinkedIn platform.] Yes, that's a signal to the devs that there's money to be made, so we're gonna lean in that direction. But telling me there was bigger interest in LinkedIn over Facebook, and that's why you supported LinkedIn first, doesn't make logical sense, especially when people are consistently asking to post on Facebook and the devs keep pushing the goalpost to offer more "features."

-1 star: Stability issues. How about we get the basics working? How about when I select a project view, it stays if I move off the screen and doesn't reset? How about being able to choose the thumbnail I want to use on TikTok? How about if I'm uploading and move to the calendar, the upload keeps... idk, uploading? Being able to drag clips to a new date and time on the calendar. That has to be a much easier fix than introducing a new mystical, magical AI feature that must have been a great idea on paper but feels vibe coded in execution.

This isn't to dump on the company. I bought into the system and plan to use it more as the product improves. But when I buy an app like this, it's to replace a recurring subscription I no longer want. Right now I have to keep that subscription until reap can become a little more usable in the capacity I need. I'm confident it CAN get there. It's just a matter of when. More importantly, it's a matter of if the devs feel those needs align with the roadmap of their intended demographic, whoever that may be.
