Q: Cloud Drives, Evernote, Export Files, Handwriting....

Hello and thank you for launching remio on appsumo, I am playing around with the free version but I alredy love the concept and the app.

Some questions:

1. Can I include connected cloud drives like google drive and plcloud into the library/search?
2. Do I have the ability to store the remio library to an external ssd or cloud drive so I have more space on my ssd?
3. Any plans for including existing knowledge/ note taking systems like Evernote (enex-files?) or exports from Apple Notes, Joplin etc. to make these other systems obsolete and store everything in remeo?
4. How can I export the captured data in case I want to leave remio in a couple of years time?
5. Does searching for files, notes and email consume any credits?
6. I am assuming all files are going through OCR, can it recognize handwritten notes without AI?

Thank you

A: 1. Cloud Drive integration isn't available yet, but it's on the way.
2. NAS works but isn't recommended — network instability or restarts will disconnect it, forcing Remio to re-index, which can be very time-consuming with large libraries.
3. More note app integrations are planned. For now, you can export notes as .md or PDF (e.g. from Obsidian) and sync them to Remio.
4. You can find that option via the … menu at the top of each item — files are saved as Markdown on your device.
5. Only AI features (Summary, Overview, Ask Remio) consume credits — everything else is free.
6. All files are indexed locally using an on-device RAG model, including OCR for images. Handwriting recognition is limited for now, but when you need to ask questions about an image, you can @mention it or paste it directly into the chat — it'll use the model's multimodal capabilities for accurate understanding.
