Q: Deduction of credits even when not using remio
I tried the free version downloaded from your website and I noticed that credits were deducted even when I was not using remio. I verified this with the time stamps:
AI usage: model=google/gemini-3-flash-preview 2026/05/22 21:03 -8
AI usage: model=google/gemini-3-flash-preview 2026/05/22 21:03 -2
AI usage: model=google/gemini-2.5-flash 2026/05/22 21:03 0
AI usage: model=minimax/minimax-m2.7 2026/05/22 20:59 -2
AI usage: model=minimax/minimax-m2.7 2026/05/22 20:59 -1
Is it a glitch? Is it normal? How do you explain it?
I was going to buy this deal, but I don't want to end up exhausting my credits only a few days after beginning of the monthly credit cycle. Please reply soon so that I can decide about this deal.

May 24, 2026A: Hi! Thanks for flagging this with timestamps, really helpful.
These deductions are likely triggered by Remio's background AI tasks, such as Weekly Recap, smart Collection recommendations, or note summaries. These run automatically based on your settings, even when you're not actively chatting.
To reduce background credit usage, you can go to Preferences → AI Preferences and turn off any automatic tasks you don't need.
Hope that helps you make your decision! 🙏
