YuzzQ: Handwriting pdf
If it's handwritten, it's image-based, so it won't be recognized, right? In that case, You know that OneNote sync feature you updated recently. how are handwritten files in OneNote recognized via OneNote integration? Is this not being recognized either?

Jun 30, 2026A: Hi! Not necessarily. A handwritten PDF is usually image-based, so if we only extract embedded text from the PDF, it won’t be recognized.
For OneNote sync, handwritten content is handled differently: OneNote itself has handwriting/OCR capabilities. If OneNote has already recognized the handwriting or indexed it as searchable text, our OneNote integration can pick up that recognized text during sync.
That said, recognition quality depends on OneNote/Microsoft’s OCR result. If the handwriting is only stored as an image or OneNote hasn’t recognized it yet, then it may not be searchable/recognized on our side either.
So the short version is: handwritten PDFs are not automatically recognized just because they are PDFs, but handwritten notes in OneNote may be recognized if OneNote has already processed them.
