It caused me more work to check accuracy
At first I thought it was great.
But after using AI to optimize 3 different resumes, I realized it was inventing information and adding it to my resume: "identified 15+ new opportunities" or "decreased stakeholder decision-making by 25%" or "increased revenue by 30% across several portfolios." What? That's not even real. Then I had to go through each section to ensure that my resume was actually truthful. Unlike simply using ChatGPT or Claude or even Gemini, there is no way to prompt it to specifically tell it "Don't invent facts." I'm a bit salty about the time I wasted. Got a refund today.

Apr 7, 2026Hi, thank you for the honest feedback — and we're sorry the experience you had.
We already have a setting to control whether to turn off metrics in two places:
- **Globally** at resumeup.ai/dashboard/user-preferences — one toggle disables measurable results across all your resumes.
- **Per resume** — both the Tailoring Level and AI Writer Level settings include an option to disable measurable results individually.
We'll take your feedback as a sign we need to surface these controls clearly in the flow. That's on us.
I'd love to personally connect and walk you through a full demo of the tool's features and capabilities — I think it'll change your experience completely. Please do come back and give it another shot, and feel free to reach out to our support team to set things up!
