Coming from Dashlane
I've been a business customer of Dashlane for a few years, but they keep raising their prices (its really expensive now) and I've been looking for an alternative.
Here are what I findt to be pros and cons with Roboform compared to Dashlane:
+ Price. This deal is a REALLY good one. (+4 tacos)
+ Really quick support. They answered me within a few hours. (+ 1 taco)
- UI. Its from 1999. No tacos for eye candy here whatsoever, it's all oatmeal. In fact, the UI is it's biggest drawback. (-1 taco)
- You CANNOT manually add a password entry in the app, you have to do so on the actual site within the browser. You can trick it by duplicating another entry and edit it, but that's just dumb. (-1 taco)
- It doesn't always understand that the password you just put in is already the one saved, and Roboform will sometimes offer to add it again. (OK, I can live with that. I can probably disable this in settings)
- If browsing with dual screens, the Roboform window sometimes pops up on the wrong screen (I can live with that too - for now. But it did almost cost you guys a Taco)
All in all 3 tacos.
I would give 5 tacos IF:
* I could manually add entries without having to use a browser
* Roboform updates the UI to something more appealing and intuitive. The designer in me has to take antihistamine pills every time Roboform pops up on the screen.
To conclude: It's a good deal, and if bad UI design isn't a total dealbreaker for you then go for it! I sure did, and I have no regrets.
Only wishes.
