Q: Amazon affiliate roundup question

What about all the reports about affiliate roundup sites hit by Google with people losing their rankings and income as a result? Since most traffic from searches would come from Google can a roundup site still work with search traffic when first page is now dominated by old authority sites, news outlets, or big e-commerce sites? Is ranking not likely so need to do ads and social media? Also what about the reports of Google hitting sites for scaled content abuse for posting too many articles? I have seen a few people recommend not posting more than one article a day if you want to avoid the possibility of getting hit with scaled content abuse. What have you seen concerning that issue? How to make these sites work, so the pages index and rank and not get hit by Google later on if you have some initial success with indexing and ranking?

A: Google penalizes content that adds no value to a reader. It doesn't care who writes the content whether it's AI or a human. Most of the AI generated content doesn't add any value. We're invested in bringing a lot of depth to the content so it adds value to a reader. We're continuously enhancing the presentation layer of a Roundup.

Google doesn't want content to just clutter their index with content that adds no value. If you see someone pitching you that you can publish 1000's of pages fast with AI, I'd run for the hills! This is a death trap. Google hates that, and we have rate limiting in place to protect and prevent users from doing that.

I agree that Roundups at older and more established domains have more weight in the index, but the "Roundup" format itself has more weight in the index than other types of content as well. If you have an existing blog, we're bringing a ton of efficiencies to your existing workflow. If you're starting a new blog, you'd have some more work to do for marketing anyways. We also provide other distribution channels, like you share a direct link from social media which doesn't have a SEO dependency, and we're generate Roundups in newsletter format too, where there is no SEO depedency either. We have a lot Beehiiv and Substack users and people generate product research reports distributed to the Inbox and where you own your customers and your destiny. Newsletters are thriving businesses, but hard to monetize, but if you can build up a list, then you have a 1 on 1 relationship with your target audience.
